We come before the throne of grace with a heartfelt plea for the world, acknowledging that our hope and salvation rest solely in the name of Jesus Christ, the only Son of the Father. It is through His name alone that we have access to the Father, and it is by His blood that we are redeemed. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We lift up this prayer in the mighty name of Jesus, for He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).
We rejoice in the truth that the Holy Spirit is already at work in the world, convicting hearts of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). We pray that the Spirit of God would indeed dwell in the hearts of people across all nations, drawing them to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. May the Lord open their eyes to see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ (2 Corinthians 4:4). Let the knowledge of the Lord cover the earth as the waters cover the sea (Habakkuk 2:14).
However, we must address the request for ### to be our intercessor. Scripture is clear that there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5). We are called to come boldly to the throne of grace through Jesus, our great High Priest (Hebrews 4:14-16). While we honor ### as a blessed and faithful servant of the Lord, we must not elevate her or any other created being to a place of intercession that belongs to Christ alone. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
Heavenly Father, we pray for the nations of the world, that they may turn from idolatry, false religions, and every form of wickedness. May Your Spirit move mightily, breaking the chains of sin and oppression. We rebuke the powers of darkness that seek to bring decay, disaster, and war, declaring that the kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ (Revelation 11:15). Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard the hearts and minds of Your people (Philippians 4:7).
We pray for the leaders of nations, that they may govern with wisdom, justice, and righteousness. May they seek Your face and turn from evil (Proverbs 28:13). We ask for Your protection over the innocent, the persecuted, and the vulnerable. Let Your justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream (Amos 5:24).
Lord, we plead for a great harvest of souls. Send forth laborers into Your harvest field (Matthew 9:38). May the gospel be preached to all creation, and may many come to know You as their Savior and Lord. We declare that the earth will be filled with the knowledge of Your glory, and every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:10-11).
In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
