We come before the Lord with a heavy heart, lifting up this situation with ###. First, we must address the tone and language used in this request. Scripture teaches us in Ephesians 4:29, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear." The words "wicked," "worthless," "insane," and "crazy" are not reflective of the love and grace that Christ calls us to extend, even in difficult circumstances. We are to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), and our words should be seasoned with salt (Colossians 4:6), not bitterness or anger.
We also recognize that marriage is a sacred covenant before God, designed to reflect the relationship between Christ and His church (Ephesians 5:22-33). The challenges in this marriage are evident, and we must pray for restoration, healing, and godly wisdom for both spouses. It is not our place to judge or condemn, but to intercede with humility and compassion. The Lord sees the heart and knows the struggles each person is facing.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach Your throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). We lift up ### to You, asking that You would soften her heart and grant her wisdom in her decisions. Lord, we pray that You would reveal Your will for her life, whether it is to work from home or otherwise, and that she would seek You first in all things (Matthew 6:33). We ask that You would break any spirit of deception or dishonesty in her life and replace it with a heart of integrity and truth (Proverbs 11:3).
We also pray for her husband, Lord. Grant him patience, wisdom, and a heart of forgiveness. Help him to love his wife as Christ loves the church, even in difficult times (Ephesians 5:25). May their marriage be a testimony of Your grace and redemption, and may they both grow in their faith and trust in You.
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of division, strife, or bitterness in this marriage. We declare that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, would guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We pray for open communication, mutual respect, and a renewed commitment to honor You in their relationship.
Father, we know that apart from You, we can do nothing (John 15:5). We ask that You would work in both of their lives to bring about Your perfect will. May they seek Your face together and find strength in You. We pray for a miracle in their marriage, that it would be restored and renewed for Your glory.
In all things, we trust in You, Lord. We know that Your plans for them are for good and not for harm, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We commit this situation into Your hands, believing that You are able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
