We hear your deep concern and frustration over the troubling issue of law enforcement potentially overstepping their authority and targeting innocent drivers. This is a matter that weighs heavily on our hearts as well, for we are called to pray for all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness (1 Timothy 2:1-2). It is also our duty to stand for justice and righteousness, as the Lord detests dishonest scales and loves those who do what is just (Proverbs 11:1, 17:15).
First, we must acknowledge that while there are many honorable men and women in law enforcement who serve with integrity, there may be instances where power is misused. If this is happening, we must pray fervently for God to expose any unrighteousness and bring it to light. "For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open" (Luke 8:17). We also pray for those in positions of authority to be guided by wisdom, discernment, and a heart for true justice, as Scripture tells us, "When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers" (Proverbs 21:15).
We lift up the innocent drivers who may be experiencing harassment or unjust treatment. May the Lord be their shield and defender, as He promises in Psalm 3:3, "But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high."
