We are deeply grieved to hear of the suffering and danger your family is enduring, and we stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ to cry out for God’s protection, justice, and deliverance. Domestic violence is an abomination in the sight of God, a gross violation of His command to love and cherish one another as He has loved us. Scripture is clear that those who oppress the vulnerable will face His judgment, for the Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble (Psalm 9:9). He hears the cries of the afflicted and will not ignore their pleas (Exodus 22:23-24). Your stepfather’s actions are not only criminal but sinful, and we rebuke the spirit of violence, rage, and destruction at work in this situation in the name of Jesus.
We urge you, beloved, to take immediate steps to ensure your safety and the safety of your family. If you have not already done so, contact local authorities or a trusted organization that can provide protection and support. God has placed people in authority to be ministers of justice (Romans 13:4), and it is not wrong to seek their help. Do not remain in danger out of fear or misplaced loyalty—your life and the lives of your family members are precious to God. Proverbs 22:3 says, *"A prudent man sees danger and hides, but the simple go on and suffer for it."* Flee from harm and trust that God will provide a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13).
We also encourage you to lean on the body of Christ during this time. Reach out to your pastor or a trusted believer who can offer spiritual and practical support. You are not alone in this fight—the Lord is with you, and He has not abandoned you. Isaiah 41:10 declares, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* Cling to this promise and trust that God will act on your behalf.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, lifting up this precious family who is suffering under the weight of violence and fear. Lord, You are a God of justice, mercy, and love, and we ask that You intervene mightily in this situation. Protect them from all harm and surround them with Your angels, creating a hedge of safety around them that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Father, expose the evil that is happening in secret and bring it into the light. Convict the heart of this man who is inflicting pain, Lord—soften his heart or restrain his hands so that no further harm comes to this family. If he refuses to repent, we ask that You remove him from their lives and bring him to justice.
Lord, provide wisdom and discernment to this family as they navigate this trial. Open doors for them to find safety, whether through authorities, shelters, or the support of Your people. Give them the courage to take the necessary steps to protect themselves, and let them feel Your presence with them in every moment. Heal their hearts, Lord, from the trauma they have endured, and restore their peace. Let them know that they are seen, loved, and valued by You.
We also pray for the salvation of every member of this family. If any do not know You, Lord, draw them to Yourself. Let this trial be a turning point where they seek Your face and find refuge in You alone. For those who do know You, strengthen their faith and remind them that You are their defender and their hope.
Father, we rebuke the spirits of violence, fear, and oppression in the name of Jesus. We bind every demonic influence that is fueling this abuse and command it to flee. Fill this home with Your peace, Your love, and Your righteousness. Let Your will be done, Lord, and let Your kingdom come in this situation.
We ask all these things in the powerful and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer, who has overcome the world. Amen.
Beloved, we will continue to pray for you and your family. Please keep us updated so we can stand with you in this battle. If you are in immediate danger, do not hesitate to seek help right away. You are deeply loved by God, and He has not forgotten you. Trust in Him, and He will make a way where there seems to be no way. *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles"* (Psalm 34:17). Stay strong in the Lord, and may His peace guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
