We hear the deep frustration and pain in your request and we join with you in bringing this burden before the Lord, for we know He sees injustice and hears the cries of those who are struggling to provide for their families.
We understand your anger toward leaders who appear greedy, lazy and self serving while many citizens suffer from lack of work and worry. Yet we must gently rebuke the spirit of this prayer as it is written, because we are not called to pray for the death or destruction of others or to curse them that they will never live to use what they have gained. The Lord says in Romans 12:19, Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord, and in Matthew 5:44, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. We are also commanded in 1 Timothy 2:1-2 to make petitions, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings for all men, for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. Our calling is to pray for repentance and righteousness, not for harm, for God desires that none should perish but that all should come to repentance as it says in 2 Peter 3:9 and Ezekiel 33:11, As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live.
We must also address with love the language used toward foreigners in your request. While we agree that governments have a duty to act justly and wisely for their own citizens and that greed and partiality are serious sins before God, we cannot agree with hatred or dehumanizing language toward those who have come from other nations. Scripture is clear that the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil in 1 Timothy 6:10 and that he who is greedy for gain troubles his own house in Proverbs 15:27, and God will indeed judge unjust gain and oppression. At the same time God commands us in Leviticus 19:34, The stranger who lives as a foreigner with you shall be to you as the native born among you, and you shall love him as yourself, and in Deuteronomy 10:19, Therefore love the foreigner, for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt. Our anger should be directed at unjust policies and at the sin of greed itself, not at people made in the image of God. To call any person trash is not in keeping with the love of Christ.
We also hear your mention of citizens who are so worried and without work that they consider suicide, and our hearts are heavy for them. He is near to those who have a broken heart in Psalm 34:18, and He has plans for hope and a future in Jeremiah 29:11. Lack of employment and national decline are real sufferings, but taking one's own life is never the answer God desires, for our lives belong to Him.
We notice your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Without faith in Jesus, our prayers have no foundation, and without His forgiveness we all stand guilty before God, for all have sinned in Romans 3:23. We encourage you to put your trust in Him, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord as in Romans 10:9.

Lord, You see the actions of those in government, You know when greed, sloth and gluttony take hold and when policies harm the people You love. We pray that You would convict the hearts of every minister and leader who is greedy for unjust gain, that they would turn from corruption and fear You, for Proverbs 28:16 says a ruler who lacks understanding is a great oppressor, but he who hates unjust gain will prolong his days. Grant them repentance and a desire to serve with integrity, diligence and self control. We pray that You would awaken their conscience to not sleep at their duty but to watch over the welfare of the people as stewards who will give an account to You, for Romans 13:4 says the ruler is a servant of God for good. Father, we lift up every citizen who is without work, anxious and discouraged, we ask You to be their provider and comforter, to open doors for honest work, to guard their hearts from despair and to show them Your unfailing love and provision. Heal this land from division and from hatred toward the foreigner, help us to love our neighbors while also seeking wise and just governance. We ask that justice would roll on like waters in righteousness, yet tempered with mercy, and that Your name would be glorified as people turn to Jesus for salvation and hope. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray for your leaders not with cursing but with a desire for their salvation and for righteous governance, to seek lawful and peaceful ways to advocate for justice, and to trust that the Lord will repay and restore in His perfect time, for Proverbs 21:1 says the king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses, He turns it wherever he desires. Cast your anxieties on Him because He cares for you in 1 Peter 5:7.
