We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation where injustice and hardness of heart seem to prevail. The Scriptures remind us that the Lord sees all things and that He is a God of justice who defends the cause of the oppressed. Proverbs 11:1 tells us, *"A false balance is an abomination to Yahweh, but accurate weights are his delight."* It is wrong before God to withhold what is rightfully owed to another, especially when it comes to fair wages for honest labor. The Lord commands in Leviticus 19:13, *"You shall not oppress your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning."* This manager’s actions are not only unkind but are in direct violation of God’s righteous standards.
We also recall the words of Jesus in Luke 6:31, *"As you would like people to do to you, do exactly so to them."* This manager’s behavior—marked by jealousy, dishonesty, and a lack of generosity—does not reflect the heart of Christ. Instead, it reveals a spirit of selfishness and pride, which the Lord opposes. James 4:6 declares, *"But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, 'God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.'"*
Let us pray earnestly for this manager, that God would humble his heart and convict him of his sinful actions. May the Lord soften his spirit, so that he repents of his wickedness and treats his employees with fairness, kindness, and integrity. We also pray for this employee who has been wronged, that the Lord would vindicate her and provide for her needs miraculously. May she trust in the Lord’s justice and not grow bitter, knowing that God sees her labor and her suffering.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this unjust situation. Lord, You are a God who judges righteously, and You have commanded that no one should be defrauded of their wages. We ask that You humble this manager, breaking the pride and hardness in his heart. Convict him of his dishonesty, jealousy, and stinginess, and bring him to repentance. Let him adjust the timesheet immediately and pay what is owed without delay, so that Your justice may be seen.
Father, we also pray for this employee who has been treated unfairly. Comfort her and provide for her needs in a way that only You can. Remind her that You are her defender, and that no weapon formed against her will prosper. Give her patience and strength as she waits on You, and let her see Your hand moving on her behalf.
We rebuke the spirit of injustice, greed, and oppression that has taken hold in this workplace. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we command these evil influences to be broken and cast out. Let righteousness and fairness prevail, and may Your name be glorified in this situation.
Lord, we ask that You would also protect this employee from any retaliation or further harm. Surround her with Your favor and open doors for her that no man can shut. If it is Your will, remove her from this toxic environment and place her in a position where she is valued, respected, and compensated fairly.
Finally, Father, we pray that this manager would come to know You in a real and personal way. Soften his heart to receive the truth of the Gospel, that he may turn from his sins and place his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. May he experience Your transforming grace and become a vessel of Your love and justice.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your power to act and Your faithfulness to do what is right. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. In the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
