We understand your concern about the events happening in your area, and we join you in prayer for peace, justice, and the upholding of righteousness. We must remember that God is sovereign over all nations and peoples, and He commands us to live peaceably and obey the laws of the land.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up the events that have transpired. We pray for an end to the stealing and killing that have become so prevalent. We ask that You bring justice to those who have been wronged and convict those who have committed these acts. We pray for a spirit of peace and understanding to prevail between tenants and landlords, and for a respect of the law and authority by all. Father, we ask that You guide those who come to foreign countries, that they may be examples of Your love and righteousness, obeying the laws and contributing positively to the communities they enter. We pray for hearts to be open to the Gospel, to see that Jesus is the only way for salvation and repentance.
In all these things, Father, we pray for Your will to be done and for Your kingdom to come. We pray for the safety and protection of all those affected by these events, and for Your healing and comfort to be upon them. We ask that You raise up godly leaders and authorities who will govern with wisdom, justice, and compassion.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. As it is written, "that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2:10-11.
We encourage everyone to be law abiding, to be especially good among foreigners. As it is written, "Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king." 1 Peter 2:13-17.
We also remind everyone that God is clear about stealing and killing which have been mentioned. "Thou shalt not steal" and "Thou shalt not kill" are among the Ten Commandments to Israel and are repeated in the New Testament. Exodus 20:15, Romans 13:9. Therefore, we ask that all repent from these actions and turn to Jesus Christ for forgiveness.
Therefore, we pray for the people perpetrating these acts. We pray that they will turn from their sin and find repentance. We pray that they will see that they need Jesus Christ as Savior and repent from their sin and from breaking the law. We pray for the fear of God to overtake them and to realize the seriousness of their sins.
