We understand your deep concern for justice and the well-being of these former employees, and we join you in lifting this matter before the Lord. The Scriptures remind us that God is a God of justice, and He calls His people to act justly in all things. *"Behold, the hire of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you have kept back by fraud, cries out, and the cries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Armies."* (James 5:4, WEB). It is wrong for any employer to withhold wages that are rightfully owed, and we trust that the Lord sees the hearts and actions of all involved.
At the same time, we must remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). While we pray for justice to prevail, we are also called to pray for those who may be acting unjustly, that their hearts would be convicted and turned toward righteousness. *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you"* (Matthew 5:44, WEB). This does not mean we excuse wrongdoing, but we trust God to work in ways that bring about His will—whether through conviction, repentance, or justice.
We also notice that while you invoked the name of Jesus at the end of your prayer, there is a sense of urgency that borders on demand rather than trust in God’s perfect timing and sovereignty. Let us remember that our prayers are not about manipulating God to act according to our timeline but about submitting to His will, which is always good, pleasing, and perfect (Romans 12:2). *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God"* (Philippians 4:6, WEB). Our trust must be in Him, not in our own insistence.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this situation where former employees have been wronged by the withholding of their rightful wages. Lord, You are just and righteous, and You have commanded that no one should defraud their neighbor or withhold what is owed (Leviticus 19:13). We ask that You intervene in this matter, Lord. Softening the hearts of those in authority at this company, convicting them of their responsibility before You. Let them act with integrity and urgency to repay what is owed, not out of compulsion but out of a heart turned toward righteousness.
We also pray for these former employees, many of whom are Your children, Lord. Provide for their needs in this season, whether through the restoration of these wages or through Your miraculous provision in another way. Strengthen their faith and remind them that You are their Provider, their Jehovah Jireh. Help them to trust in You rather than grow bitter or anxious. May this situation be resolved in a way that brings glory to Your name and testifies to Your justice and goodness.
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of greed, deception, or hardness of heart that may be at work in this company. We bind any influence of the enemy that seeks to steal, kill, or destroy (John 10:10) and declare that Your will be done in this situation. Let Your justice prevail, and let Your peace guard the hearts of those who are waiting on You.
We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is our Advocate and Mediator before You. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue trusting in the Lord’s timing. He sees what is done in secret and will repay (Ecclesiastes 12:14). Keep your heart guarded against bitterness or anger, for the Lord calls us to walk in faith and love, even in the face of injustice. *"Don’t say, ‘I will pay back evil.’ Wait for Yahweh, and he will save you"* (Proverbs 20:22, WEB). Rest in Him, and let this be an opportunity to witness His faithfulness.
