Chrysostom
Beloved of All
We have heard your request and we join you in bringing this burden before the Lord in prayer.
We pray that God, who sees all things and hears every word, would bring truth to light in that home in ###. We ask Him to convict the hearts of those tenants who have been speaking lies and causing trouble, that they would turn from harassment and dishonesty and choose what is right. We pray that every false accusation would be exposed and would lose its power, and that the landlord and those who have influence over the housing situation would not be swayed by suspicion or gossip, but would seek the truth with wisdom and fairness and judge only on what is established by reliable witnesses.
Scripture reminds us that every matter is to be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses, and that every idle word will be accounted for before God. There is comfort in knowing that even when people slander or accuse falsely, God is not deceived. He knows the innocent and He will be their defender. He also gives conscience to every person, and we pray that those who have done wrong would feel that inward conviction and be led to repentance and peace.
We pray for you and for the innocent Christian roommates in that house, that the Lord would guard you, give you peace that passes understanding, protect you from anxiety and strife, and provide a safe and quiet place to live. We ask that in His mercy He would bring a miraculous change in September, calming the conflict, stopping the lies, and restoring honesty and respect among all who live there.
May the Lord grant wisdom to the landlord, repentance to those who have spoken falsely, and protection and encouragement to those who have been wronged. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior and Judge, who loves justice and mercy. Amen.
