We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up those who have been spreading fear and misinformation under the guise of godliness. Father, we know that Your Word warns us against false prophets and teachers who distort the truth for their own purposes. Jesus Himself said, *"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves"* (Matthew 7:15 WEB). It is grievous to see Your holy name invoked to spread division, fear, and rebellion against the authorities You have ordained (Romans 13:1-2 WEB).
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of deception that has led some to twist Scripture, claiming vaccines or government measures are the "mark of the beast" without biblical foundation. The mark of the beast is a future sign of allegiance to the Antichrist, not a medical intervention (Revelation 13:16-17 WEB). To equate it with vaccines is to distort Your Word and lead others astray. We pray that You would open their eyes to see how they have misrepresented You and caused harm to the body of Christ.
We also rebuke the pride that has led some to elevate themselves as "end-time prophets" while lacking the humility to test their words against Scripture. Your Word commands us to *"test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world"* (1 John 4:1 WEB). Those who claim divine insight while spreading fear and division are not speaking by Your Spirit.
Father, we pray for repentance for those who have blasphemed Your name by using it to justify rebellion, fearmongering, and even hatred toward those who disagree. Jesus said, *"But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a huge millstone were hung around his neck, and that he were sunk in the depths of the sea"* (Matthew 18:6 WEB). The harm caused by these deceptions is serious, and we ask that You would convict hearts and bring about true repentance.
We also lift up those who have been led astray by these teachings. Lord, we ask that You would heal their minds and hearts, replacing fear with faith and division with unity. Help them to discern truth from lies and to cling to Your Word as their foundation. *"Sanctify them in your truth. Your word is truth"* (John 17:17 WEB).
Finally, we pray for wisdom for leaders and authorities as they seek to protect and serve their people. Give them discernment to act justly and compassionately, and help us as believers to submit to their leadership as unto You, unless it directly contradicts Your commands (1 Peter 2:13-17 WEB).
Father, we ask that You would bring light into this darkness, expose lies with Your truth, and turn hearts back to You. May those who have been deceived find their way to repentance, and may those who have deceived others be brought to a place of humility and correction. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to You. Amen.
