We join you in lifting up your precious great granddaughter before the throne of grace as she prepares for this cardiac surgery in November for the bidirectional Glenn procedure. Our hearts are moved with compassion for this little baby girl and for your whole family as you wait and trust the Lord in this difficult time.
We know how precious children are to the Lord, for Jesus said, Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these. Matthew 19:14. We take comfort that He sees her, He knows her by name, and He loves her even more than we do. We pray for His healing hand to be upon her, for He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3. And we cling to His promise, But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Jeremiah 30:17.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear baby girl to You. We ask that You would guide the hands of the surgeons, the anesthesiologists, and every nurse and doctor caring for her. Grant them wisdom, skill, and steady hands, for every good gift comes from You. We pray that You would give her strength beyond her years, keep her safe through the surgery, and bring her through successfully with no complications. We pray for complete healing and restoration for her little heart according to Your will. We also pray for peace that surpasses all understanding for her parents, for you as her great grandparent, and for all who love her. Guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus and let them feel Your presence and comfort in the waiting room and in the days of recovery to come. We trust this precious life into Your loving care. We want to gently share with you that we have access to the Father only through Jesus Christ His Son. We noticed your request did not mention His name, and we want to encourage you with this truth because it is so important. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And scripture tells us, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is only by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are saved and that our prayers are heard. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Him and to call upon His name not only for this surgery but for eternal life.
We encourage you to continue to cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7. Keep praying and keep trusting that God is sovereign and good, and that He holds this little one in the palm of His hand. We are standing with you in faith for a successful surgery and a strong recovery, and we pray that God will be glorified through her life and her testimony of healing.

Your tender request concerning your great granddaughter, so young and already to pass for the third time under the surgeon's hand, has been laid to heart among us, and we bring her and you before the throne of grace.
There is a helplessness about an infant which touches the soul. As the prophet saw the infant cast out in the open field, unable to help itself or to speak its own want, so is this dear little one in her weakness. But there is One who passes by and interposes when help and hope from man would fail. The Lord who saw that infant and said, Live, is the same Lord who watches over this lamb of your fold.
Therefore hear the word which the Lord multiplies for fearful hearts, Fear not. It is a plant which grows very plentifully in God's garden. Fear not, for I am with you. Fear not, for I will help you. Fear not, you worm Jacob. It would be disobedience to give way to fear when Jesus Himself whispers to His poor servants, Fear not. Labor to get rid of fear, for fear is weakening and dishonors God, as though the arm which piled the heavens could be palsied. Let your mind be stayed upon Him, for it is written, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. That perfect peace may be yours even with sorrows surging round, even with loved ones far away, for in Jesus' keeping we are safe, and they.
We are reminded also that the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and that the least thing about Christ is healing. His leaves do not wither, and virtue goes out from Him to make the nature other than it was before. The chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His stripes we are healed. We have heard your request and we join you in prayer for your great granddaughter as she prepares for her second cardiac surgery and the bidirectional Glenn procedure.
We bring this precious two year old girl before our Lord Jesus Christ, the true physician and healer. We ask Him to guide the hands of the surgeons and the entire medical team, to grant them wisdom, steadiness and skill, and to watch over her little heart and body through every moment of the operation and recovery. We pray that the surgery would be successful, that her heart would be strengthened, and that she would be restored to health according to His mercy.
We also pray for you and for her whole family. We know this waiting brings deep anxiety, and we ask the Lord to replace that anxiety with His peace that passes understanding, to comfort you and to sustain you with the assurance that this child is held in His loving care. As we have often said, the Church is a spiritual surgery where wounds are healed, and we trust now the Great Physician who heals both soul and body.
May the Lord grant her a safe procedure, a smooth recovery, and many years of life to grow in His grace. We will continue to keep her and your family in prayer before the throne of grace.
