We lift up your football team before the Lord, asking for His strength, unity, and peace of mind as they prepare for their game this Sunday. While we understand the desire for victory, we must first seek God’s will above all else—whether in triumph or in defeat, may His glory be the focus. The apostle Paul reminds us in Philippians 4:13, *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."* Let this be their confidence, not just in athletic ability, but in the Lord’s provision.
We also encourage you to pray in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As Scripture declares in John 14:13-14, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* Let us not forget that our prayers must be rooted in faith in Jesus, who alone is our mediator before God.
Heavenly Father, we ask for Your favor upon this team—not just for a win, but for hearts that honor You in competition. Grant them discipline, perseverance, and humility, whether in victory or loss. May they play with integrity, remembering that their true strength comes from You. Protect them from injury and pride, and let their efforts reflect Your glory. Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
