Disciple of Prayer
We are a couple from the US who recently moved to the Netherlands. I have had a job here and my wife has been unemployed for about a year due to a layoff and the difficult job market. She has had many close calls, where she impresses teams but they end up going with another candidate in the final round. Due to the turbulent nature of our international move, and financial burden of such, I pray she finds her ideal role here in the Netherlands. Please pray for the minds and hearts of those who are making the hiring decisions to see how great of a candidate she is, and how deserving she is of a role here.

We lift up your hearts before the Lord, knowing that He is the One who provides all things, including employment and opportunities. It is clear that this season of waiting has been challenging, and we want to encourage you both to remain steadfast in faith, trusting that God’s timing is perfect. The Lord sees your wife’s diligence, her skills, and her heart—He is not unaware of her efforts or your family’s needs. We also commend you for seeking God’s intervention in this matter, for it is through Him that doors are opened and favor is granted.

The Word of God reminds us in **Proverbs 16:3**, *“Commit your works to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed.”* This is not a promise of instant success by human standards, but an assurance that when we surrender our plans to the Lord, He will guide and establish our steps. Similarly, **Psalm 37:5-6** says, *“Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will bring out your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.”* Your wife’s righteous efforts—her perseverance, her integrity in interviews, and her trust in God—will not go unnoticed by Him. He will bring justice to her situation in His perfect time.

We also turn to **Jeremiah 29:11**, where the Lord declares, *“For I know the plans that I have for you, says Yahweh, plans of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.”* Even in this season of waiting, God is preparing something good. The closed doors she has faced are not rejections from the Lord but redirections. He may be protecting her from roles that are not His best for her, or He may be refining her for something greater than she has yet imagined.

At the same time, we must remember that our trust is not in the favor of men but in the sovereignty of God. While we pray for the hearts of hiring managers to recognize her strengths, we ultimately pray that *God’s will* be done—not merely that she secures *any* job, but the *right* job, the one He has prepared for her. **Colossians 3:23-24** reminds us, *“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ.”* If she continues to seek employment as unto the Lord, He will honor that.

We also encourage you both to examine this season for what God may be teaching you. Is there an area of trust that needs to be surrendered? Is there a fear of man (such as the opinions of hiring managers) that needs to be replaced with fear of the Lord? Are there opportunities to serve or grow in this waiting period that you may have overlooked? Sometimes, the Lord uses these times to draw us closer to Him, to strip away self-reliance, and to remind us that He is our Provider.

Now, let us pray together for your wife’s employment:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious sister who has faithfully sought employment in the Netherlands. Lord, You know her skills, her heart, and the desires You Yourself have placed within her. We ask that You open the *right* door—a door that no man can shut—where she will not only thrive but also be a light for Your glory in her workplace.

Father, we pray for the minds and hearts of those in positions of hiring authority. Soften their hearts to see her value, her competence, and the unique gifts You have given her. Remove any bias, any spiritual blindness, or any unseen obstacles that may be hindering her progress. Let Your favor rest upon her as she continues to apply and interview, and grant her the peace that surpasses understanding as she waits.

Lord, we also ask for Your provision over their finances during this time. You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides, and we trust that You will meet every need according to Your riches in glory. Strengthen their marriage during this season, that they may lean on You and on one another, growing in unity and faith.

If there has been any doubt, any fear, or any wavering in their trust in You, Father, we ask that You renew their minds with Your truth. Remind them that You are not a man that You should lie, and that Your promises are yes and amen in Christ Jesus. Help them to rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for their good, even when the path is unclear.

We rebuke any spiritual opposition to Your will in this situation. Satan, we command you in the name of Jesus to take your hands off this family, off their finances, and off the opportunities You have ordained for them. No weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of You, O God.

Finally, Father, we ask that You prepare your wife’s heart for the role You have for her. Give her wisdom, confidence, and a clear sense of Your leading. May she walk into her new position with the knowledge that it is You who has gone before her, and may she use her work as a platform to honor You.

We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your faithfulness, and we declare that Your will shall be done in this situation. May Your name be glorified through it all. In Jesus’ mighty and holy name, we pray. Amen.

---
We also want to gently address something important: in your request, the name of Jesus was not invoked. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is by His authority that we pray. **John 14:6** declares, *“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”* And in **Acts 4:12**, we read, *“There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved!”* When we pray, we must come in the name of Jesus, for He is our Mediator (1 Timothy 2:5). We encourage you to always approach the throne of God through Christ, who has made the way for us.

Lastly, we urge you both to remain in prayer and in the Word during this time. Let this season draw you closer to the Lord and to one another. Seek His kingdom first, and trust that all these things—including employment—shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33). May the Lord bless you and keep you as you wait upon Him.

We're right there with you, dear friend, as you navigate this season of waiting for your wife's employment. We've been praying for you both, and we want to encourage you with these words:

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." - Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)

We know that the job market can be challenging, especially in a new country. But remember, God is faithful, and He sees your wife's diligence and the family's needs. He's not unaware of her efforts or the close calls she's had. We believe that God is working behind the scenes, preparing something good for her.

Let's continue to pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our sister who has been faithfully seeking employment in the Netherlands. Lord, You know her skills, her heart, and the desires You've placed within her. We ask that You open the right door for her - a door that no man can shut. We ask that You soften the hearts of those in hiring positions, allowing them to see her value, competence, and the unique gifts You've given her. Remove any bias, spiritual blindness, or unseen obstacles that may be hindering her progress. Let Your favor rest upon her as she continues to apply and interview, and grant her the peace that surpasses understanding as she waits.

Father, we also ask for Your provision over their finances during this time.

We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your faithfulness, and we declare that Your will shall be done in this situation. May Your name be glorified through it all. In Jesus' mighty and holy name, we pray. Amen.

Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep seeking God's face. He's got this!

Praying for others on here and reading your Bible will help you tremendously.

I wanted to commit suicide once, I even came up with a plan. Right before I headed out the door I posted a prayer on here and hoping there might be help from God one last time I opened the Bible and only read take no thought for your life. I read that before at least 100 times but never really could understand how. This time I took it to heart, all right God I will end my life by not thinking about it. I take no thought, I take no thought, I take no thought over and over and over again I take no thought was my only thought that day. All of a sudden I noticed something, Jesus showed up, all my pains were gone, no neck ache, no back pain, no leg pain from many many accidents I had over the years and no pain in my heart as my wife had left me. I started singing praises and thanks to Jesus and my life has never been the same. It is our obedience to God from His Holy Instructions that makes a difference to His Power of His Promises in our lives.

Be a doer of Jesus friend, it really makes a difference! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Search the Bible for Jesus' Promises friend, do them and claim them in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Powerful healing promise hidden in Proverbs 3:7-8, I am not wise in my own eyes, I fear You Lord, I depart from evil, especially my own evil thoughts and my flesh is healed and my body is refreshed in Jesus.

Praying for others especially in your situation will help you tremendously in yours friend.

Take no thought for your life dear friend and Jesus will take thought for you. Sing praises and thanks to Jesus and He will overflow His Holy Spirit in you and so much more. He will fight for you and give you the desires of your heart.

Pray this prayer look up the verses and pray it again with your friends and family and let's mount up with wings as eagles and soar. Soar with me.
