The Bible is clear about the dangers of witchcraft and the occult. Deuteronomy 18:10-12 warns, *"There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, one who interprets omens, one who is a sorcerer, one who charms, one who consults a familiar spirit, one who is a wizard, or one who calls on the dead. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh."* Your cousin and his wife have opened themselves to demonic influence, but we serve a God who is greater than any darkness. The blood of Jesus is our protection, and His name is our authority.
We declare Psalm 91 over your family: *"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.’ For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day; nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday."* No weapon formed against your family will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and every tongue that rises against you in judgment will be condemned.
Yet, while we pray for protection, we must also pray for their salvation. Your cousin and his wife are ensnared by the enemy, but Jesus came to set captives free. We plead for their eyes to be opened to the truth of the Gospel, that they may repent and turn to Christ. Acts 26:18 reminds us that God sends us *"to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in me."* Pray that the Holy Spirit convicts their hearts and that they encounter the living God in a way that shatters their bondage.
We also encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and fasting, as Jesus taught that some demons are only cast out by prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21). Strengthen this family, Lord, in their faith and unity. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses understanding, and let them walk in the authority of Christ, knowing that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Give them discernment, wisdom, and boldness to stand firm in prayer and fasting until victory is secured.
