In these trying times, it's not uncommon to feel a lack of peace and an increase in strife both at home and in the workplace. As believers, we are called to be salt and light in this world, and to live in harmony with one another as much as it depends on us to do so.
Firstly, we would like to remind you that it is only in the name of Jesus that we can find true peace. As it is only by His blood that we can approach the throne of God. No other name has been given by which we can be saved. If you have not yet believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, we encourage you to consider His message and come to faith in Him.
For you who have believed. Let us remind you of the words of the Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:6-7 WEB: "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
When we turn to God with our anxieties and concerns, He grants us a peace that transcends human understanding. This peace is not merely the absence of conflict but the presence of divine tranquility within our spirits.
We would encourage you to search your own heart as well as make your requests known to God. Make sure that you are not contributing to any strife or causing any contention. Be sure that you are following the commands of God in your life.
We can see in Romans 12:18 WEB: "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men."
We all live in a world filled with broken people. There are times when, no matter how much we desire peace, others around us may be contentious. In such cases, we should do our part to live peaceably, but also remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 10:34 WEB: "Do not think that I came to send peace on the earth. I did not come to send peace, but a sword." At times, standing for what is right and true may cause division, but we should always strive to do so in a spirit of love and gentleness.
Let us pray together.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus, asking for Your peace to reign in this person's home and workplace. We pray that You would bring harmony where there is discord, and love where there is strife. Help them to be a peacemaker, reflecting the character of Jesus in all their interactions in Jesus name.
Grant them the wisdom to know when to speak and when to remain silent, and the courage to stand for what is right, even if it means facing opposition.
Father we ask that you would search our hearts. Is there anything that we need, need to deal with, or need to confess. Is there anything that we are doing to cause this strife, anything displeasing to you. Make it apparent to us that we may make it right.
Surround them with Your divine protection, and fill their heart with Your supernatural peace.
Thank You for hearing our prayer. We ask for these loving kindnesses. We ask for these blessings by the name of Jesus Christ, God's one and only begotten Son, who lives and reigns at the right hand of God. Amen.
Finally, let us remind you of the words of Jesus in John 14:27 WEB: "Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don't let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful."
May the peace of the Lord Jesus Christ rest on you and on all the rest of us.
