We lift up ### to You, Father, with heavy hearts, knowing the weight of anger, resentment, anxiety, and depression that he carries. The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Lord, we ask that You draw near to him in this time of struggle. Soften his heart, melt away the bitterness, and replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Let him feel the love and support of his family and friends, but more importantly, let him feel Your love, which is unshakable and everlasting.
We rebuke the spirit of anger and resentment in Jesus’ name, for Ephesians 4:31-32 tells us, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." Father, we pray that ### would release these burdens to You, trusting that You are working all things together for his good (Romans 8:28). Help him to forgive those who may have wronged him, just as You have forgiven him.
We also pray against the spirits of anxiety and depression that seek to steal his joy and hope. Your Word declares in 1 Peter 5:7, "Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." Lord, we ask that You lift the heaviness from his heart and replace it with the hope that comes from knowing You. Remind him that he is never alone, for You have said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5). Fill him with Your peace, joy, and the assurance that his life has purpose and meaning in You.
Father, we ask that ### would come to know You more deeply if he does not already. For it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to You and the hope of salvation. John 14:6 tells us, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" If ### has not yet surrendered his life to You, we pray that he would do so today. Let him experience the freedom and new life that comes from being born again in Christ (John 3:3). May he find his identity, worth, and strength in You alone.
We declare over ### that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), that he is loved beyond measure, and that his future is bright in You. We speak healing over his mind, body, and spirit, and we ask that You surround him with godly influences who will encourage and uplift him. May he walk in the fullness of Your purpose for his life, free from the chains that have held him back.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
