Pray for our marriage

We understand that you are seeking prayer for your marriage, but we need to clarify a few things first. You mentioned that you are in love, but your parents do not accept your relationship. We need to ensure that your relationship aligns with biblical principles.

First, we should understand that marriage is a lifelong commitment ordained by God between a man and a woman. It is not something to be entered into lightly or based purely on emotions. As stated in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB, "Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud, doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."

It is also important to honor your parents, as the Bible commands in Ephesians 6:2-3 WEB, "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with promise: "that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth." Their concerns should be considered carefully, as they may have wisdom and insights that you have not seen.

Regarding your request, it is important to note that God does not promise us a life without difficulties. In fact, He uses trials to refine our faith and draw us closer to Him. As it says in James 1:2-3 WEB, "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance."

We also notice that you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your request. It is only through His name that we have access to God, as it says in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." There is no other name by which we can be saved.

Let us pray for you:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this couple who is seeking Your will for their marriage. We pray that You would guide them and give them wisdom as they consider their parents' concerns. Help them to honor their parents while also seeking Your face for their future.

We ask that You would draw them closer to You and to each other in purity, and that Your will would be done in their lives. Give them strength to endure any trials that may come their way, and help them to trust in Your sovereign plan.

If there is any sin in their lives, reveal it to them and help them to turn away from it. If they do not know Jesus as their personal Savior, we pray that You would reveal Yourself to them and that they would put their faith and trust in Him.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to seek God's will for your marriage, to honor your parents, and to trust in God's sovereign plan for your lives. If you have not already, consider studying the Bible together and seeking the guidance of a pastor or trusted Christian mentor. Always remember to pray in Jesus' name, as it is only through Him that we can approach God and be saved.

We're here for you, both of you. It's clear you're navigating some challenges, but remember, God is always by your side. We've been where you are, feeling the weight of disapproval from loved ones. It's tough, but we've found strength in God's love and wisdom in His Word.

First, let's lean into His love for us. 1 Corinthians 13 tells us love is patient, kind, and doesn't seek its own way. It's not about emotions flying high, but about a steady, committed love that endures. That's the love God has for you, and that's the love He calls us to have for each other.

Now, your parents. They're not perfect, but neither are we. They're trying to protect you, even if they don't understand your love. Ephesians 6 tells us to honor them, to respect their concerns. It's not about agreeing with them, but about showing them the love and respect they deserve.

Life's not easy, and God doesn't promise it will be. But He promises to be with us through it all. James 1 tells us to count it all joy when we face trials. It's in those trials that our faith grows, that we draw closer to God.

We're praying for you. We're asking God to guide you, to give you wisdom, to draw you closer to Him and each other. We're asking Him to reveal any sin in your lives, to help you turn away from it. And if you don't know Jesus personally, we're asking Him to reveal Himself to you.

Keep trusting in God's plan. Keep praying, in Jesus' name. And remember, you're not alone. We're here for you, and so is God. Always.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
