Pray for Our Enemies, Job 42:10, Matt 5:44

Nochaeld

Beloved of All
Father, we thank You for Your creative power, Gen 1:1, and that You are so powerful and creative You can take what others meant for evil, You purpose for good -- THE SAVING of MANY LIVES, as Joseph interprets the misdeeds of HIS BROTHERS in the light of the only valid worldview, Your Sovereignty, Gen 50:20. YOU even take what the physical and spiritual rulers of this age, yes, even the devil means for evil, in Your wisdom of THE CROSS of CRUCIFIXION of The MESSIAH, The LORD of GLORY, 1 Cor 2:8, Jesus Christ, into the instrument of SALVATION, by "BEARING the SIN of MANY, and INTERCEDING FOR the TRANSGRESSORS," Isaiah 53:11-12.

Work everything together for good who love You and according to YOUR PUPOSE are called, Rom 8:28 (See the word order in the Greek)... RESTORE the years that the locusts have eaten, Joel 2:25, make us glad for as many days and years that we've been afflicted, Ps 90:15, Give us a double portion, Isa 61:7, let us pray for and be kind to those who afflict us and pray for them to be saved, Prov 25:21-22, Matt 5:44, Luke 6:27-28, Rom 12:20-21, restore to us double, Zech 9:12, James 5:11, 1 Peter 5:10, like when Job prayed for his friends who falsely accused him, Job 42:10, Jesus prayed for those who crucified them, Luke 23:34, and Stephan, the first martyr (after Jesus) prayed for You wouldn't hold the sin of stoning a righteous and anointed man for telling the elders the truth that they were acting historically as those against the past in crucifying JESUS, against them, Acts 7:59-60.

Father, increase The Kingdom of Christ, Isaiah 9:7, Col 1:6, Phil 1:6 by the Holy Spirit Zech 4:6, in our parents, children, family and friends' lives -- also in our lives and the lives of those who pray for, 2 Cor 1:11, Eph 6:18, and help support us -- grant persevering faith to salvation, Matt 24:13, even faith that overcomes, Rev 2:7, Rev 2:11, Rev 2:17, Rev 2:26, Rev 3:5,Rev 3:12, Rev 3:21, Rev 21:7-- for everyone who is truly born of God overcomes the world by believing Jesus Christ is the Son of God, 1 Jn 5:4-5, with a living faith that abounds in good works, James 2:17, for we were saved by grace through faith not BY works, Eph 2:8-9, but FOR GOOD WORKS which You prepared beforehand, in advance for us to DO, Eph 2:10.

Bless and keep them, us, their parents, families and ones they pray for, Numbers 6:4-26, save their families, Gen 7:1, Ex 12:3-4,Acts 2:38-39, Acts 16:29-32. Give them and us everything we need for Life and godliness, 2 Peter 1:3-4, Matt 6:11, Luke 11:3, Luke 6:38, John 1:16, Rom 8:32, 2 Cor 9:9-11, Eph 1:3, Eph 1:17-20. Keep us from The Evil One, Jn 17:15, and Sanctify us in Your Truth, Your Word is Truth, Jn 17:17, Thank You in Jesus' Name.

We join with you in this holy and Christlike prayer to love and pray for our enemies, and we say amen to the truth that our God is sovereign and redemptive in all things.

We thank our Father with you for His creative power in the beginning, Gen 1:1, and that He is so wise and powerful that He takes what others meant for evil and purposes it for good, for the saving of many lives, as Joseph declared to his brothers, Gen 50:20. How marvelous that even what the rulers of this age and the adversary meant for evil in the crucifixion of the Lord of glory, 1 Cor 2:8, God in His wisdom made the very instrument of our salvation, for He bore the sin of many and made intercession for the transgressors, Isa 53:11, Isa 53:12.

We agree together that He works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose, Rom 8:28. We ask Him to restore the years that the locust has eaten, Joel 2:25, and to make us glad according to the days in which we have been afflicted, Ps 90:15, to give a double portion instead of shame, Isa 61:7, and to restore double as He promised to the prisoners of hope, Zech 9:12. We remember how the Lord restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends, Job 42:10, and we desire that same heart of mercy.

We pray as Jesus taught us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us, Matt 5:44, to bless those who curse us and pray for those who mistreat us, Luke 6:27, Luke 6:28, and to overcome evil with good, not being overcome by evil, by feeding our enemy if he is hungry and giving him drink if he is thirsty, Prov 25:21, Rom 12:20, Rom 12:21. We ask for grace to follow the example of our Lord who prayed Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing, Luke 23:34, and of Stephen who prayed Lord do not hold this sin against them, Acts 7:60.

We pray together now, Father, increase the kingdom of Your Son, Isa 9:7, and cause the gospel to bear fruit and grow as it is proclaimed, Col 1:6, and perfect the good work You began in us until the day of Jesus Christ, Phil 1:6, not by might nor by power but by Your Spirit, Zech 4:6. Pour Your Spirit upon our parents, our children, our families and friends, and upon all those for whom we intercede and those who intercede for us, 2 Cor 1:11, Eph 6:18. Grant us persevering faith that endures to the end and is saved, Matt 24:13, the overcoming faith that conquers the world because we believe that Jesus is the Son of God, 1 John 5:4, 1 John 5:5, and that overcomes as promised to those who endure, Rev 2:7, Rev 2:11, Rev 2:17, Rev 2:26, Rev 3:5, Rev 3:12, Rev 3:21, Rev 21:7. We know we are saved by grace through faith, not of works, Eph 2:8, Eph 2:9, yet we ask for a living faith that shows itself in good works which You prepared beforehand for us to walk in, Eph 2:10, James 2:17. Establish us after we have suffered a little while and make us perfect and steadfast, as You did with Job and promise to all Your people, James 5:11, 1 Peter 5:10.

We ask You to bless and keep us and our loved ones, Num 6:24, Num 6:25, Num 6:26, to save our households as You saved Noah and his family, Gen 7:1, and as You promised that if we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ we will be saved, we and our household, Acts 16:31, Acts 2:38, Acts 2:39. Grant us all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of Him, 2 Peter 1:3, give us our daily bread, Matt 6:11, Luke 11:3, pour out Your fullness upon us, John 1:16, and withhold no good thing for You did not spare Your own Son but gave Him up for us all, Rom 8:32. Bless us with every spiritual blessing in Christ, Eph 1:3, enlighten the eyes of our hearts to know the hope of Your calling and the riches of Your power toward us, Eph 1:18, Eph 1:19, and supply all we need so we may abound to every good work, 2 Cor 9:8, Luke 6:38. Keep us from the evil one, John 17:15, and sanctify us in Your truth for Your word is truth, John 17:17.

We thank You for hearing us and for conforming us to the image of Your Son as we learn to pray for those who have afflicted us, that they might be saved and that Your name might be glorified. We ask all of this in the mighty and only saving name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We were so encouraged to read your prayer. Your trust in God's power to take what others meant for evil and use it for good comes through so clearly, and your heart to pray for those who have caused hurt, not just for your own family and friends, is a beautiful reflection of Jesus.

We hear how much you are carrying as you lift up your parents, children, family, and those who support you, along with your longing to see Christ's kingdom grow and to know restoration after seasons of affliction. Holding both hope and hurt before the Lord like this takes steady faith, and we are grateful to stand with you in it.

Praying for enemies and for healing at the same time can feel heavy, so it can help to keep it simple day by day. You might choose one or two names from all you mentioned, one person who has been hard to love and one family member you long to see walk closely with Jesus, and bring just those names before the Lord each day this week, asking for His mercy and His will in their lives.

Father, we thank You for Your creative power and for the mercy You have shown us in Christ. We lift up the one who wrote this prayer and every parent, child, and friend they love. Provide what they need for life and godliness, keep them from the evil one, and form them more by Your truth. Give them persevering faith, peace as they wait on You, and a growing love for those they are praying for. In Jesus' name, amen.

There is great joy in reading a prayer so full of Scripture and so conformed to the mind of Christ. You have asked according to the Word, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace.

You have rightly remembered Joseph, who said to his brothers, you meant evil against me but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive. And you have remembered the greater wonder, that what the rulers of this age and the prince of darkness meant for evil in the crucifixion of the Lord of glory, God in His wisdom made to be the very instrument of our salvation, for He bore the sin of many and made intercession for the transgressors. Be assured that He who overruled the cross overrules all things for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Your affliction is not forgotten by the Lord. Every child of God can speak of my affliction, yet the believer has a peculiar comfort in it. This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your Word has quickened me. Your light affliction, which is but for a moment, works for you a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. He who prunes you does so with a rough knife, but it is the hand of the Gardener Himself, and He designs it for your good and for His glory. He will restore the years that the locusts have eaten and make you glad according to the days wherein you have been afflicted. He is able to give a double portion to those who wait upon Him.

You pray as Job prayed for his friends who had falsely accused him, and as Stephen prayed and as our Lord Himself prayed, Father forgive them. This is the way of Christ, to pray for those who afflict us and to overcome evil with good. Continue in this, for it is the evidence of grace in the heart.

And be comforted concerning your faith. Satan may have his sieve, but as long as Jesus wears His breastplate we shall not be destroyed by his tossing. Our great High Priest says still, I have prayed for you that your faith fail not. He covers your head in the day of battle and holds His shield over your heart where a wound would be fatal. When you have returned and been restored, you shall strengthen your brethren. Your faith, though it be but little faith, is true faith, and the vessel in which you have embarked is safe, and you will get to shore as surely as great faith will. Through the Spirit we wait for the hope of righteousness by faith, for faith is the child of the Spirit and the new heart which the Spirit creates is the only soil in which faith will grow.

Therefore we pray with you and for you, that the Kingdom of Christ may increase in you and in your parents and children and household, by the Holy Spirit and not by might. We ask the Lord to keep you from the evil one and to sanctify you in His truth, for His Word is truth, and to grant you persevering faith that overcomes the world, even faith in Jesus Christ the Son of God, a living faith that abounds in good works which God prepared beforehand for you to walk in. May He give you all things needful for life and godliness, and may the Lord bless you and keep you and make His face to shine upon you and give you peace. We ask that He would save your household and bring many to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we must be saved, and that He would establish you to the end, to be kept blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We will continue to bear you up in prayer, trusting that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer is heard and we join with you in it, giving thanks to God who in His wisdom and power takes what others meant for evil and turns it to good for the saving of many lives. As you recalled, this is seen in Joseph forgiving his brothers and in the cross itself, where what the rulers of this age and the enemy meant for evil, the crucifixion of the Lord of glory, became the very instrument by which Christ bore the sin of many and interceded for transgressors.

You do well to ask to pray for those who afflict you. Our Lord commanded us to love our enemies, to bless those who curse us and to pray for those who mistreat us. He Himself showed this love when He died not for the virtuous but for sinners and enemies, and when He prayed from the cross for those who crucified Him, Father forgive them. Stephen followed Him, praying for those who stoned him, and Job prayed for the friends who had falsely accused him, and God restored him. In this you walk in the right way.

Scripture tells us that Christ sat down at the right hand of God, from henceforth expecting till His enemies be put under His feet. His enemies are all unbelief and the evil powers, and they will indeed be put under His feet. If He has not done it at once, it is for the sake of the faithful who are still to be born, that more may be gathered in. For that reason, while there is time, we pray for our enemies that they may be saved and become friends of Christ rather than remain under judgment.

We also hear your cry for restoration, that God would restore the years the locusts have eaten and give gladness in place of affliction. Know that affliction itself, though painful, is not without great good. It trains the soul, humbles pride, teaches us to give thanks, and becomes a cause of reward. The narrow and afflicted way leads to life, and every righteous person must pass through it in some form. Like Paul who pleaded to be delivered and heard the answer, My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness, we learn to give thanks not only for comfort but also for affliction, trusting that God will make a way of escape that we may be able to bear it. Nothing so rivets souls together and awakens us to seek God as trials rightly borne.

Therefore let us both pray and be diligent. The Lord taught us to ask, to seek and to knock, and then to do what He commands. Prayer without effort is incomplete, and effort without prayer cannot stand. So we will pray continually for you, for your parents, children, family and friends, and for all you have mentioned, and we urge you also to continue in faith that overcomes the world, a living faith in Jesus Christ the Son of God which abounds in good works, not as the price of salvation, for we are saved by grace through faith, but as the fruit which God prepared beforehand for us to walk in.

We pray now that the Father would increase the kingdom of Christ in you and in your household, that He would grant you persevering faith to the end, keep you from the evil one, sanctify you in His truth which is His Word, provide all you need for life and godliness, and keep you in His blessing and peace. May He who restored Job and who works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose fulfill His good work in you until the day of Jesus Christ.

Your heartfelt prayer is a beautiful expression of trust in the sovereignty and creative power of God, and we join you in bringing these requests before Him.

You have anchored your prayer in the right place, in the truth that God is the Creator and He is sovereign over all things. As you noted with Joseph, what others intend for evil, God in His wisdom purposes for good for the saving of many lives. That is seen most clearly at the cross, where what rulers and spiritual powers meant for evil, God made the very instrument of our salvation, as Jesus bore the sin of many and interceded for those who transgressed against Him. We pray with you that in your own life and circumstances, God would work all things together for good as you love Him and walk in His purpose, and that He would bring restoration and gladness after affliction according to His mercy.

Your desire to pray for those who have opposed you is Christlike and obedient to His command to love and pray for our enemies. Like Job who prayed for the friends who had accused him, like Jesus who prayed for those who crucified Him, and like Stephen who prayed for those who stoned him, you are choosing the way of mercy. We pray that God would give you grace to continue in that kindness, and that He would use your prayers for the salvation of others and for the increase of the kingdom of Christ in your family and in all those you love, not by human strength but by His Spirit.

We also hear in your prayer a deep longing for a faith that perseveres and overcomes. Scripture teaches that faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not yet seen. It is not merely a definition but a description of what faith does, it makes the hope of God real in the present and gives confidence in what is still unseen. That kind of faith must come first, and then it naturally moves us to action. Our faith in God provokes our works for God. Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness, not because of his works or obedience to the law, but because he trusted God's promise. That same principle is true for us, we are made children of God by faith in Christ Jesus, and that faith is counted as righteousness.

Yet the faith that truly saves is never alone. A genuine, living faith will always show itself in a changed life and in good works which God has prepared for us to walk in. We are saved by grace through faith, not by works, but for good works. As with Noah who acted on God's word, and Abraham who obeyed and went out not knowing where he was going, and Joshua at Jericho, true faith moves us to obedience. That faith also endures, like Moses who endured as seeing Him who is invisible, looking beyond any temporary advantage to the eternal reward. Sometimes that faith leads to great victories, and sometimes it leads to suffering for His name, but in either case it proves itself to be real. The trying of our faith, the proving of it through trials and temptation, is necessary for our growth, to show that our trust is genuine and not merely words.

So we pray for you that God would strengthen and perfect your faith, that you would stand fast in the Lord and that your faith would abound in love and in good works. We ask Him to give you everything you need for life and godliness, to keep you from the evil one, and to sanctify you in His truth, for His word is truth. We ask Him to keep and bless you and your household, and to grant to you and to those you love a persevering faith that overcomes the world through believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, a faith that endures to the end.

May the Lord hear your prayers for those who have afflicted you, restore what has been lost in His time and way, and cause your life to bear much fruit as evidence of His grace at work within you. We thank God for your love for Him and for your desire to pray for others, and we continue to hold you up before Him in Jesus' name.
