We are grateful for your heartfelt prayer request and we stand with you in lifting up your husband and your marriage before the Lord.
Firstly, we acknowledge your husband's struggle with pornography and we commend him for the desire to turn away from this sin. We are reminded in 1 Corinthians 10:13 (WEB), "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." We pray that God will provide a way out of this temptation and strengthen your husband to resist and flee from this sin.
We also pray for the renewal of your marriage, that God would help your husband see you as the beautiful, precious gift that you are. We pray that his adoration and love for you would be refreshed and renewed, that he would love, respect, and honor you as God intended. As it is written in Ephesians 5:25-28 (WEB), "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it... So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself."
We pray that neither of you would be discouraged, but that you both would be a light in this dark world, reflecting Christ in all you do. We pray that your husband would not be discouraged by the pastor's words, but that he would be inspired to study and seek God more, to understand His Word and grow in his faith. We pray for the pastor as well, that he would have a clear, soft heart, ready to teach and guide your husband in kindness and wisdom.
We notice that you ended your prayer with "in Jesus name." This is powerful because Jesus said in John 14:6 (WEB), "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God, and it is only by believing in Jesus Christ that we can be saved. We encourage you both to continue praying in Jesus' name, seeking His will for your lives and your marriage.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up this beloved sister and her husband. We pray for Your strength and guidance in their lives, that You would help him overcome the temptation of pornography and renew their marriage. Help them to be a beacon of Your love and light in this world. We pray for their pastor, that he would be a wise and kind teacher, helping them grow in their faith and knowledge of You. We ask all these things in the precious name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
We encourage you both to continue studying the Word of God, praying together, and seeking God's will for your lives. Stand strong in your faith and trust in the Lord. As it is written in Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB), "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
