We stand with you in faith, lifting you and your wife up before the throne of grace in this time of physical affliction. The discomfort of itching, the pain of blisters, and the weariness that comes with illness can truly test our strength and patience. But we know that our God is the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:2-3). We come together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or healed (Acts 4:12).
Father God, we thank You for Your promise that by Your stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We declare this truth over our brother and his wife, believing that You are working even now to bring relief, restoration, and complete healing to their bodies. Lord, we ask that You touch every sore, every blister, and every area of discomfort. Bring soothing relief to their skin, ease the itching, and speed up the healing process. Strengthen their bodies to overcome this illness, and grant them restful sleep so they may regain their strength.
We also pray for wisdom for the medical professionals treating them. Guide their hands and their decisions, Lord, so that the medication and care they receive align with Your healing plan. But above all, we trust in Your divine intervention, for You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
We rebuke this illness in the name of Jesus Christ. Chicken pox, you have no authority here—be gone in Jesus’ name! We declare that this sickness will not linger, and we speak life and health over their bodies. May they rise up from this trial stronger in faith and testimony, giving glory to God for His mighty works.
We encourage you both to continue standing on God’s promises, even when the physical symptoms may cause doubt. Remember that faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).
Lean on one another in this time, praying together, reading Scripture, and speaking God’s Word over your situation. Confess His promises aloud, for the Word of God is living and active (Hebrews 4:12), and it will not return void (Isaiah 55:11). We also encourage you to anoint yourselves with oil in the name of the Lord, as James 5:14 instructs, and pray over one another, believing that the prayer of faith will heal the sick.
May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We stand with you in agreement, believing that you will testify of God’s healing power in your lives. Be encouraged, for the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). You are not alone in this battle—we are with you, and more importantly, God is with you.
We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
