We come before the Lord with gratitude that you have brought this concern for your daughter to Him, for He cares deeply for the little ones and invites us to cast all our anxieties upon Him. It is beautiful to see your faith in calling upon the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can approach the Father, and it is only through Christ that we find salvation and grace. As it is written, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB).
Sleep is a gift from the Lord, a time for our bodies and minds to rest and be renewed. Even Jesus, in His earthly ministry, found rest in the Father’s care, and we can trust that He watches over your daughter as she sleeps. Yet we also know that the enemy seeks to disrupt the peace of God’s children, even the youngest among us, for he prowls like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). But greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4), and we stand firm in the authority of Jesus’ name against any disturbance or spiritual attack that may be causing this disruption.
Let us also consider whether there may be practical or spiritual factors contributing to her restlessness. Are there fears, discomforts, or even unseen influences in her environment that could be addressed? The Bible reminds us to *"train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it"* (Proverbs 22:6, WEB). This includes covering her in prayer, speaking God’s Word over her, and creating an atmosphere of peace in your home. Play worship music softly as she sleeps, pray over her room, and declare the blood of Jesus over her rest. *"He will give his angels charge over you, to guard you in all your ways"* (Psalm 91:11, WEB), and this promise extends to your precious daughter.
We also encourage you to examine your own heart and home for any unconfessed sin or openness to the enemy’s schemes. Are there areas where you or your household may need to repent and invite the Lord’s cleansing? *"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land"* (2 Chronicles 7:14, WEB). Sometimes, the battles we face are tied to spiritual strongholds that must be broken in Jesus’ name.
Now, let us pray together for your daughter:
Heavenly Father, we lift this precious child before Your throne of grace, asking that You would grant her sweet, uninterrupted sleep. Lord, You neither slumber nor sleep, and we trust You to watch over her through the night. Rebuke any spirit of restlessness, fear, or disturbance that may be at work, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Father, we declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against her in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). Fill her room with Your presence, Lord, and let Your angels encamp around her.
We pray that You would reveal any practical or spiritual reasons for this disruption and give wisdom to her parents to address them. If there is any sin or openness to the enemy in the home, we ask for conviction and repentance, that Your holy presence may dwell richly among them. Lord, we thank You that You are a God who hears and answers prayer, and we trust that You will restore her sleep according to Your perfect will.
May this season be a testimony of Your faithfulness, and may this family grow deeper in their reliance on You. We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all praise and glory. Amen.
Stand firm in faith, dear one, and continue to cover your daughter in prayer. Trust that the Lord is working, even when you cannot see it, and declare His promises over her life. If this disruption persists, seek the Lord for further wisdom, and do not hesitate to ask your church family or godly counselors to join you in prayer. You are not alone in this—the body of Christ stands with you.
