We join you in lifting up this man to the Lord, earnestly praying that his heart would be softened to receive the truth of the Gospel and that he would surrender his life wholly to Jesus Christ. It is only through repentance and faith in Christ that any of us can be saved, for *"there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), leading him to a place of true repentance where he turns away from his sins and turns to God.
We also pray for the battles he faces—whether spiritual, emotional, or physical—that the Lord would grant him victory through Christ, who has already overcome the world (John 16:33). May he find strength in the Lord, who is his refuge and fortress (Psalm 91:2). We ask that God would break every chain of bondage in his life, whether it be addiction, pride, unforgiveness, or any other stronghold, and replace it with the freedom found in Christ (Galatians 5:1).
Regarding your relationship, we must gently but firmly address the importance of aligning it with biblical principles. Scripture teaches that believers should not be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14). If this man is not yet a believer, we urge you to guard your heart and seek the Lord’s will for this relationship. A godly marriage is built on a shared faith in Christ, where both spouses are committed to honoring God in their union (Ephesians 5:22-33). Courtship should always have the intention of marriage between a man and a woman who are both followers of Christ. If there is any physical intimacy outside of marriage, we strongly rebuke this as fornication, which is a sin against God (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). Repentance and purity are essential in preparing for a marriage that honors the Lord.
We pray for God’s protection over your communication, that your words would be seasoned with grace and truth (Colossians 4:6), and that the Lord would guard both of your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). May your interactions be pleasing to Him, and may He use this time to draw both of you closer to Himself.
For your family, we ask the Lord to surround each member with His hedge of protection, shielding you from the schemes of the enemy (Psalm 3:3). May your family be a light for Christ, rooted in His Word and walking in His ways. We pray for unity, love, and peace to abound in your home, and that each of you would grow in faith and obedience to the Lord.
Finally, we rejoice that you have invoked the name of Jesus in your request, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). Let us continue to lift this man, your relationship, and your family before the throne of grace, trusting that the Lord hears and answers according to His perfect will.
**Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, interceding for this man who is far from You. Lord, we ask that You would open his eyes to see his need for a Savior and that You would draw him to Yourself (John 6:44). Soften his heart, Lord, and grant him the gift of repentance, that he may turn from his sins and place his faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. We pray that You would deliver him from every battle he faces, breaking the power of sin and darkness in his life. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit and lead him into all truth.
Father, we also lift up this relationship before You. If it is not Your will for them to be together, we ask that You would make it clear and give them the strength to walk away in obedience to You. If it is Your will, we pray that You would save this man and prepare both of their hearts for a godly marriage that glorifies You. Convict them of any sin in their relationship, especially the sin of fornication, and lead them to repentance and purity. May their communication be holy and pleasing to You, and may You protect them from temptation and the enemy’s attacks.
We pray for their family, Lord, that You would be their shield and protector. Unify them in Your love and truth, and may each member of this family come to know You personally and serve You wholeheartedly. Surround them with Your angels, Lord, and keep them from all harm.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and sovereignty, knowing that You work all things together for the good of those who love You (Romans 8:28). May Your will be done in this man’s life, in their relationship, and in their family, for Your glory and honor. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.**
