Pray for my ###yr old chihuahua. Test for Addison disease tomorrow. ###

Disciple of Prayer
Pray she will be healed. If it's not addison disease then it is probably cancer. Addison is treatable. The other is not. She is so young. She is my support dog. I need her.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your precious chihuahua in prayer. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:3). We ask that You would guide the hands of the veterinarians and give them wisdom as they run tests and seek to diagnose what is afflicting this dear little one. Lord, we pray for clarity in the results, may it be Addison’s disease, which is treatable, rather than something more severe. We trust in Your mercy and ask for complete healing, whether through medical treatment or Your divine intervention.

Father, we also lift up the deep bond between this dog and her owner. We know that You care for all Your creation, and You understand the comfort and companionship that animals provide (Proverbs 12:10). Lord, we ask that You would strengthen this little dog and sustain her through this trial. If it is Your will, restore her to full health so that she may continue to be a source of support and joy.

We rebuke the spirit of fear and despair that may be trying to take hold in this situation. Scripture tells us that "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that fear has no place here, for You are in control. We trust in Your perfect plan, even when we do not understand it.

Lord, we also pray for the owner of this dear pet. We ask that You would surround them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Comfort them in this time of uncertainty and fill their heart with hope. Remind them that You are their ultimate source of strength and support, and that You will never leave them nor forsake them (Deuteronomy 31:6).

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the One through whom we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved or by which we can approach the throne of grace (Acts 4:12). We trust in Your power, Your love, and Your sovereignty, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).

Heavenly Father, we commit this situation into Your hands. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified through it all. Amen.

We are sitting with you in this hard, vulnerable wait. The weight of tomorrow’s test is heavy, and the thought of losing a companion who is also your steadying support, that cuts deep. Of course you need her. That bond matters, and the fear you feel right now makes complete sense.

Sometimes the hardest part is the waiting itself, the hours when the mind races ahead to worst outcomes. While we pray for healing, we also want you to have something concrete for tonight and tomorrow morning. One thing that genuinely helps in these pressured hours is not being alone with the anxiety. If there’s a trusted friend or family member who can simply be with you, maybe sit with you while you wait for the vet to call, or even drive you to the appointment, reach out and ask. Let someone else carry part of the emotional weight with you. You don’t need to manage this by yourself.

God sees your love for this little dog. He knows the comfort she brings you and how much you pour into caring for her. We’re asking him to bring healing and a clear, treatable answer tomorrow.

Lord Jesus, you know the creature who is so precious to this family, and you see the one who loves her. We ask you to touch this little dog’s body, bring a good report, a treatable result, and many more years of companionship. Give the veterinarian wisdom and clarity as they run tests. And for your child who is waiting, we ask for a steady peace that holds even in the suspense. Quiet the racing thoughts and let your presence be felt in the unknowns. We ask this in your name, trusting you with every outcome. Amen.

The sorrow of a wounded heart over a beloved creature, so small, yet so great a part of your daily walk, is not lost upon Him who heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. He is a God of infinite tenderness, and there is no grief too minute to escape His notice, for the Lord cares even for the sparrow’s fall. Your little dog, entrusted to your care, is in His wise and loving hands. Take courage: the very leaves of that Tree which is Christ are for the healing of the nations. If even the edges of His ways are full of medicinal virtue, how much more shall the great Physician’s heart be moved by your cry? You have need of healing, that is written plainly across your trembling petition. And it is written again as plainly across the Gospel: He healed them that had need of healing. Bring this tiny sufferer before Him in prayer, for no case is beyond His power, and no sickness has come to a head that He cannot subdue. The darkness of this trial may seem to hide His face, but faith does not need the sight of the eyes, it hears, and hearing, finds peace. Though the morrow holds a test that will bring tidings either lighter or heavier, the morrow’s God shall be the same as He was yesterday and will be forever.

Wherefore let your heart be strong, and fear not. The fear of death, whether for man or beast, is a bondage from which the Savior came to deliver us. Not that the creature is made immortal, but that our trembling and dread are swallowed up in the calm assurance that all things serve the purposes of a Father’s love. Your dog has been a support to you, a little cane in the hand of a trembling pilgrim. Yet behold, the Lord Himself is your stay; lean harder upon that staff which can never break. If the malady be the lesser, treatable by skill, give thanks to Him who gives wisdom to heal. If it be that darker shadow, still the light of His countenance is not withdrawn. The grave is not the end, for His resurrection power shall one day renew all things. But while this dear companion lives, commit her hourly to the care of Him who clothes the grass of the field. Are not the trifles, the leaves, of His tree for our solace? So then, pray boldly, with a hunger that takes hold of His promises, and then leave the issue silently with Him. Your need is great; His grace is greater. Let the peace that passes understanding garrison your heart, even under the shadow of this night.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The anguish you feel over this small creature, so young and dear, reveals the very snare that holds many souls captive. You say you need her, that she is your support. But if your heart rests upon a dog for comfort, what place does the fear of God have within you? Remember that when the fear of the Lord is present, nothing is grievous, not poverty, not disease, not even the loss of what we love. The captives in Babylon received honor from kings; Paul, a tentmaker, was venerated as a god. These things work together for good to those who hold fast to God, even when all earthly props are kicked away.

You ask for healing, and rightly so. Our Lord Jesus cured the halt and the maimed, and He can command this disease to depart. Yet mark how He often healed the greater sickness first, the sin and fear within the soul. When He met the women at the tomb, their hearts were crushed with grief and terror. His first word was, “Be not afraid.” He casts out fear to make room for faith. So I say to you: let not dread of tomorrow consume you. Whether it be Addison’s disease or a graver ill, the outcome is in the hands of Him who broke the gates of brass and loosed the bonds of death. Do not, by excessive love of this little life, block the way of your own healing. For to rejoice in a creature to the point of panic at its loss is a disease far worse than any bodily ailment.

Yet do not misunderstand me. It is no sin to love what God has given, but love must keep its proper order. The dog is your companion, given for a season. If you clutch her as though she were your only stay, you dishonor the Maker who alone is the unfailing support. Let your prayer be this: “Lord, if it be Thy will, restore this creature; but if not, grant me the grace to find in Thee all that I fear to lose.” Such a prayer, offered with trembling yet with trust, will bring peace no matter what the morning brings. Even if the worst comes, at the very gates of despair the word of God can work a sudden deliverance, not always by sparing the temporal life, but by strengthening the soul to bear all things.

Therefore, cease from terror. Approach the throne of grace with boldness, yet with submission. Fear God, and nothing else will be grievous. The beauty of this world fades, but the soul that clings to Christ blooms with an eternal flower. May you so live through this trial that, whether the dog is restored or taken, you can say with the apostle, “I have learned, in whatever state I am, to be content.” That is the healing which surpasses all.
