We are truly concerned for your daughter and appreciate your heartfelt request. Firstly, we would like to remind you that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1 WEB)
We need to address a few things in your request. First, understand that God does want your daughter to be in good health and have a sound mind. (3 John 1:2 WEB). It is good to pray for God's intervention in her life, but we should be careful not to put expectations on God's timing. Instead of praying for something amazing to happen this week, pray for God's will and timing, for Him to work in her life as He sees fit. We are reminded in Romans 8:28, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." He is good, and all His ways are perfect (Psalm 18:30).
Next, we want to address the romantic relationship. It is important to remember that God's design for romance is within the bounds of marriage, a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. It is also crucial for Christians to be equally yoked (2 Corinthians 6:14), meaning your daughter should be pursuing a relationship with a fellow believer in Christ. Please pray for God's will in this relationship and the grace of purity. Pray for a godly spouse for your daughter, if it is God's will for her to marry.
Finally, you did not mention Jesus Christ in your prayer. It is by the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, Who is in Heaven (John 14:6). The Bible is clear that salvation is only through Jesus Christ, "in none other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12).
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister and her daughter. Lord, we know that You love them both dearly, and You have a plan and purpose for their lives.
Father, we pray for Your intervention in her daughter's life. Pull her out of the pit of depression and heal her from the eating disorder. Give her a sound mind and a healthy body. Give them both Your peace that passes all understanding. Work in her daughter's life according to Your will and timing.
We also pray for the romantic relationship. Lord, let Your will be done. Lead her daughter into a relationship that honors and glorifies You. Help her to pursue purity and righteousness. If it is Your will, provide a godly spouse for her daughter.
Father, we also pray for salvation for her daughter, if she has not already accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Open her heart to receive the good news of the Gospel.
We praise You and thank You for who You are and all You have done. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Trust in the Lord, and keep your minds and hearts on Him. May His peace and comfort be with you both during this time. Stand on the promises of God, for He is faithful.
