We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your precious son who is struggling with wheezing. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who knit this child together in his mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-14). You see every breath he takes, and we ask for Your healing touch to bring relief to his lungs and airways. Lord, we declare that by Your stripes, he is healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on Your promise that You hear the cries of Your children (Psalm 34:17).
We rebuke this affliction in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is written that the enemy comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Christ came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We command this wheezing to cease and for his body to be strengthened according to Your will. Father, grant wisdom to the doctors and caregivers attending to him, that they may be guided by Your hand in their treatment (James 1:5).
We also lift up this mother’s heart, Lord. The stress and fear she feels are understandable, but we pray she would cast all her anxieties on You, knowing You care for her (1 Peter 5:7). Remind her that You are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Surround her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
If there is any unconfessed sin or unforgiveness in this family’s life, we pray for conviction and repentance, for You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We ask that this trial would draw this family closer to You, deepening their trust in Your sovereignty and love.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach Your throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, believing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Amen.
