My sister who will turn 44 in October, has been unwell for several years, and her illness is a mixture of so many things; she suffers from Hyperthyroidism, schizophrenia, Fibroids and alcoholism, she has also been diagnosed as being 'overly religious'. She also believes that there are spirits of people she was aquinted to when she was much younger who are still living, and that they hate her and want to steal the future that the Lord has for her, and she has battles with them spiritually. She claims that they sqeeze her ovaries so that she never has children, they tell her that she does not deserve to have a good life, and she says that they rape her, as a result of all these battles, we see her gyrate her mid section and rotate her neck like she has something inside her body at odd times, and this can be very embarassing for us as a family because she does it anywhere and everywhere, I think all gyrating and rotating of the neck makes her very tired and thus, she spends any moment she can get asleep, even in the office, so she can not retain a job.
She is in complete denial of the schizophrenia and alcoholism, thus making it difficult to treat, the doctor feels that alcoholism is her attempt to relax her feelings and emotions, because she has refused to take medication.
We have taken her to rehab and she does not want to stay there because she thinks that there is nothing wrong with her.
Please pray that she gets out of her denial, that she accepts to take medication and that she recovers. Please pray for our family for strength to deal with this, because there are those members of the family who are also in denial and prefer not to get involved in the treatment and healing process, they dont want to come to terms with the issues at hand.
