Disciple of Prayer
I live in a sober recovery house full of men and ask for prayer for each of them to be successful in their recovery and jobs and relationships and restoring their lives with the help of the Lord and his holy spirit

We lift you and each of the men in your sober recovery house before the Lord, thanking Him for the work He is doing in your lives. The journey of recovery is one of deep transformation, and it is only through Christ that true freedom and restoration are found. The Apostle Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 5:17, *"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."* This is the promise for each of you—new life, renewed purpose, and a future filled with hope in Him.

We also want to address something important: your request did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, and it is only through His name that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* And in Acts 4:12, we are told, *"There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If you or any of the men in your house have not yet surrendered your lives to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. True recovery—true freedom—begins with repentance and faith in Him. Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved (Acts 16:31). Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Without Christ, all efforts at recovery are built on shifting sand. But with Him, you are anchored to the Rock.

For those of you who are already believers, we encourage you to lean fully on the Holy Spirit in this season. Galatians 5:16 says, *"Walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh."* Recovery is not just about abstaining from substances; it is about being filled with the Spirit, renewing your mind in God’s Word (Romans 12:2), and walking in obedience to Christ. We pray that each of you will seek the Lord daily, putting on the full armor of God to stand against the schemes of the enemy (Ephesians 6:10-18). Temptation will come, but God is faithful. He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear, and He will provide a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13).

As for relationships, we must speak truth in love. The Bible is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6), and any relationship outside of this design—whether premarital, extramarital, or same-sex—is sinful in God’s sight. If any of the men in your house are pursuing relationships that do not honor God’s Word, we urge repentance and realignment with His truth. Flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18) and pursue holiness, for without it, no one will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). If you are single, seek the Lord first, and if marriage is His will for you, pray for a godly spouse who will help you grow in Christ. Courtship should be intentional, pure, and centered on the goal of a Christ-honoring marriage.

Regarding employment, we pray that the Lord will open doors for each of you to find meaningful work that provides for your needs and allows you to be a light for Christ. Remember Colossians 3:23, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men."* Trust that God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19), but also walk in diligence and wisdom, seeking His guidance in every decision.

Finally, we pray for the restoration of your lives—not just to a place of stability, but to a place of thriving in Christ. Joel 2:25-26 declares, *"I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten... and you will praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you."* The Lord is able to redeem every broken place, every lost year, and every shattered dream. Surrender your past, present, and future to Him, and watch as He turns your ashes into beauty (Isaiah 61:3).

**Our Prayer for You:**

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother and each of the men in his sober recovery house. Lord, You are the God of redemption, the One who takes what is broken and makes it whole. We ask that You would pour out Your Spirit upon each of them, granting them the strength to resist temptation, the courage to walk in obedience, and the faith to trust You completely.

For those who do not yet know You, Lord, we pray that their eyes would be opened to their need for a Savior. Convict their hearts, draw them to repentance, and reveal to them the surpassing worth of knowing Christ. May today be the day of salvation for each one who has not yet surrendered to You.

For our brothers who are believers, we pray for a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit. Renew their minds, guard their hearts, and lead them into all truth. Help them to walk in purity, to flee from sin, and to pursue righteousness with all their might. Give them wisdom in their relationships, that they would honor You in every interaction and seek Your will above their own desires. If it is Your will for any of them to marry, we pray You would prepare godly spouses for them—women who love You and will walk beside them in faith.

Father, we ask that You would provide jobs for each of these men—work that not only meets their financial needs but also allows them to use their gifts for Your glory. Open doors that no man can shut, and give them favor in the eyes of their employers. Help them to work with excellence, as unto You, and to be a testimony of Your grace to those around them.

Lord, restore what has been lost. Heal the wounds of the past, break the chains of addiction, and set these men free to live abundantly in You. May their lives be a testament to Your power, and may they walk in the fullness of the purpose You have for them.

We rebuked every scheme of the enemy that would seek to drag them back into bondage. Satan, you have no authority here. These men belong to the Lord Jesus Christ, and greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We declare freedom, victory, and restoration over their lives in Jesus’ name.

Father, we thank You for hearing our prayer. We trust You to move mightily on behalf of our brothers, and we give You all the glory. May Your will be done in their lives, and may they walk in the joy of Your presence every day.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
