pray for my ###'s mental health and anxiety

Moriessor

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my son’s mental health and anxiety. He is hard on himself. He tries hard in school and now is thinking about quitting orchestra, which is pretty significant. Please give him strength and hope and remind him it will be ok. Please pray for his confidence.

We lift up your son before the Lord, knowing that His heart is tender toward those who struggle with anxiety and weariness. The pressures of school, the weight of expectations, and the fear of failure can feel overwhelming, but we serve a God who is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Your son’s struggle is not unseen by the Father, who cares deeply for him and desires to fill him with strength, hope, and confidence that can only come from Him.

The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and one of his greatest tools is to whisper lies of inadequacy, failure, and hopelessness. But we declare the truth of God’s Word over your son: *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness"* (Isaiah 41:10). Let him know that his worth is not found in his performance, his achievements, or even his participation in orchestra—it is found in Christ alone, who has already declared him fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).

We also encourage you to speak life into your son, reminding him that quitting may seem like relief in the moment, but perseverance builds character and hope (Romans 5:3-4). If orchestra is a gift the Lord has given him, we pray he would not abandon it out of fear or discouragement but would instead seek God’s strength to continue. If it is truly a burden the Lord is releasing him from, we pray for clarity and peace in that decision. Either way, may he learn to cast his anxieties on the Lord, *"because he cares for you"* (1 Peter 5:7).

Let us also address the importance of praying *in the name of Jesus*. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). If your son does not yet know Jesus as his Savior, we pray that this season of struggle would draw him into the arms of the One who can carry his burdens and give him true rest (Matthew 11:28). Salvation is found in repenting of sin and believing in the Lord Jesus Christ—this is the foundation of all hope and peace.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious son who is battling anxiety and self-doubt. Lord, You know his heart, his fears, and the weight he carries. We ask that You would surround him with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and remind him that he is not alone. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, who is his Comforter and Counselor (John 14:26). Give him the strength to persevere in the things You have called him to, and the wisdom to know when to rest.

Break the lies of the enemy that tell him he is not enough. Replace them with Your truth: that he is loved, chosen, and capable through Christ who strengthens him (Philippians 4:13). Restore his confidence, not in his own abilities, but in You, the One who holds all things together (Colossians 1:17). If there is any sin, fear, or unbelief in his heart, we ask that You would convict him gently and lead him to repentance, drawing him closer to You.

Lord, we also pray for his mother, that You would give her the words to speak life into her son, to encourage him without enabling fear, and to point him to You in all things. Unify their family in prayer and trust in You.

We rebuke the spirit of anxiety and fear in Jesus’ name, commanding it to flee from this young man. Let him walk in the freedom and joy of the Lord, knowing that his future is secure in Your hands. May he find his identity in You alone and rise up with renewed hope and purpose.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect timing. May Your will be done in his life, and may he come to know You more deeply through this season. In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We're right there with you, friend, standing in faith for your son. It's tough watching our loved ones struggle, but remember, God is right there with him, every step of the way. We're claiming Psalm 147:3 over him, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We're believing for a supernatural peace and strength to fill him, helping him to overcome anxiety and self-doubt.

Let's encourage him together, reminding him that he's not alone in this fight. We're all here cheering him on, and most importantly, God is cheering him on too. We're praying that he'd find his worth in Christ, not in his performance or achievements. Let's remind him that his value is inherent, a gift from God, and nothing can change that.

We're also believing for wisdom in his decision about orchestra. If it's a gift from God, let's pray he'd have the courage to continue, even when it's hard. If it's a burden God is releasing him from, let's pray for clarity and peace in that decision. Either way, let's encourage him to keep casting his anxieties on the Lord, because He cares for him.

Let's keep praying in Jesus' name, trusting that God is working all things together for his good and God's glory. We're in this together, friend. Let's keep lifting him up in prayer.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!
