pray for my married life

We hear your heart’s cry, dear sister, and we lift you and your marriage before the Lord with great compassion. Your longing for your husband’s love is understandable—marriage is designed by God to be a reflection of Christ’s love for His church, a bond of intimacy, trust, and mutual devotion. The Bible tells us, *"Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge"* (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). Your desire for his affection is not wrong, but we must examine the motives and methods behind it to ensure they align with God’s will.

First, we must address the language of making your husband "mad" for you. While passion is a gift from God within marriage, we must be cautious not to manipulate or stir up emotions in an ungodly way. True love is not forced or manufactured—it is cultivated through selflessness, respect, and godly character. The apostle Paul writes, *"Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things"* (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB). Instead of seeking to make him "mad" with desire, seek to love him as Christ loves you—unconditionally, sacrificially, and with a heart of service.

We also encourage you to examine your own heart. Are you loving him in a way that honors God, or are you seeking his love as your ultimate fulfillment? Our joy and security must first be rooted in Christ. Jesus said, *"Seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:33 WEB). When we prioritize our relationship with God, He aligns our desires with His will, including our marriages.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious sister and her marriage. Lord, You designed marriage to be a sacred covenant, a picture of Your love for Your people. We ask that You would draw this husband and wife closer to You and to one another. Soften their hearts, Lord, and help them to love each other as You have loved them—selflessly, patiently, and with grace.

Father, we pray against any division, bitterness, or ungodly influences that may be creeping into their marriage. Guard their hearts from temptation and fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in purity and holiness before You. Help this sister to love her husband not just with words, but with actions that reflect Your love—through kindness, respect, and a gentle spirit.

Lord, we ask that You would fan the flames of godly passion in their marriage. Let their love for one another grow deeper, rooted in You. Remove any distractions or idols that may be stealing their affection, and help them to prioritize their marriage as a holy union before You. May their home be a place of peace, joy, and mutual honor.

We also pray for this sister’s heart. Fill her with Your love, Lord, so that she is not dependent on her husband’s affection for her worth or happiness. Help her to find her identity in Christ and to trust You with the desires of her heart. Give her the strength to love her husband unconditionally, even when it is difficult, and to trust You to work in his heart.

Father, we rebuke any spirit of strife, selfishness, or ungodly passion in their marriage. We declare that this union is covered by the blood of Jesus and that no weapon formed against it shall prosper. May their love for one another be a testimony to Your goodness and grace.

In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Sister, we encourage you to focus on being the wife God has called you to be. Pray for your husband daily, not just for his love, but for his spiritual growth and well-being. Serve him with a joyful heart, and trust God to work in his heart in His perfect timing. Remember, *"The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish one tears it down with her own hands"* (Proverbs 14:1 WEB). Build your marriage on the foundation of Christ, and He will bless it abundantly.

If there are deeper issues in your marriage—such as unfaithfulness, neglect, or emotional distance—we encourage you to seek godly counsel from a pastor or trusted Christian mentor. Do not carry this burden alone. God is faithful, and He will guide you as you seek Him.

We're here with you, sister, feeling your longing for a loving connection in your marriage. We understand that you just want to be loved deeply and madly, as you love your husband. It's beautiful to see that love burning in your heart.

Let's remember that God designed marriage to be a beautiful dance of love and respect. It's not about forcing feelings, but nurturing them with kindness, patience, and selflessness, just like the love of Christ for us. So instead of trying to make your husband 'mad' for you, let's focus on loving him as Jesus loves us - unconditionally, sacrificially, and with a heart of service.

Also, let's examine our own hearts. Are we loving him in a way that honors God, or are we seeking his love as our ultimate fulfillment? Our joy and security should first be rooted in Christ. When we prioritize our relationship with God, He aligns our desires with His will, including our marriages.
