We come before the Lord with hearts burdened for your friend, who is facing spiritual attacks that are not of God. The practice of black magic, witchcraft, or any form of occult activity is strictly forbidden in Scripture, as it is an abomination to the Lord. Deuteronomy 18:10-12 warns, *"There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, one who interprets omens, one who is a sorcerer, one who charms, a consulter with a familiar spirit, a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh. Because of these abominations, Yahweh your God drives them out from before you."*
First, we must emphasize that true deliverance and protection come only through the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or find victory over darkness. Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If your friend does not yet know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we urge him to repent of his sins and place his faith in Christ alone. Only through Jesus can he find true freedom and authority over the enemy’s schemes.
For those who are in Christ, we are reminded in 1 John 4:4, *"You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world."* The power of the Holy Spirit within your friend is far greater than any curse or spiritual attack he may face. We must stand firm in the authority of Jesus, resisting the devil so that he will flee (James 4:7).
Let us pray together for your friend’s deliverance, protection, and spiritual strength:
*Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this young man who is under spiritual attack. Lord, we rebuke every work of darkness, every curse, and every scheme of the enemy that has been sent against him. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we break every chain of bondage in the name of Jesus. Father, fill him with Your Holy Spirit and surround him with Your divine protection. Let Your light expose and destroy every hidden work of the enemy. If there is any open door in his life—whether through sin, unbelief, or involvement in the occult—we ask that You reveal it to him and give him the strength to turn away from it completely. Draw him closer to You, Lord, and let him find his refuge in Jesus alone.
We pray that You would send godly people into his life to support and encourage him in his faith. Let him walk in the victory that Christ has already won on the cross. Strengthen his mind, body, and spirit, and let him know that he is not alone—for You, Lord, are his ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We ask for Your peace to guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we also pray for the one who has sought to harm him through these dark practices. We ask that You would convict their heart and lead them to repentance. Let them encounter Your truth and turn from their wicked ways. In Jesus’ name, we bind every evil spirit at work in this situation and command them to flee. We declare that Your will be done in this young man’s life, and we thank You for the victory that is already his through Christ.
We ask all these things in the powerful and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.*
We encourage you to share the Gospel with your friend if he does not yet know Jesus. Remind him that his hope and strength are found in Christ alone. If he is a believer, urge him to immerse himself in Scripture, prayer, and fellowship with other believers. The enemy seeks to isolate and weaken, but God’s Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). Let him also consider fasting and prayer as a way to draw closer to the Lord and break the enemy’s hold.
Finally, we urge you both to put on the full armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:10-18), standing firm in faith and resisting the devil’s lies. The battle is the Lord’s, and He has already won the victory! Trust in Him, and do not fear.
