Disciple of Prayer
You all prayed hard for my marriage and I appreciate it so much. Please pray for my family unity but in particular for my oldest son. He has become so rigid with his thoughts and pushing family and friends away. He is very opinionated, bad thoughts and following a different path. He doesn’t see a problem and thinks it’s everyone else. His opinions and strong pushing disposition is isolating him. I can’t get him help cause he won’t accept it or talk to anyone. I fear mental illness. Please pray he come out of the darkness and let the Lord and light back in.

We hear your heartache and concern for your son, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting him and your entire family before the throne of grace. The pain of watching a loved one drift into isolation and darkness is profound, and we know the Lord sees your tears and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). Your son’s rigidity, pride in his own opinions, and refusal to seek help are indeed troubling signs, and we must address this with both truth and compassion, for the enemy would love nothing more than to keep him bound in deception.

First, we must rebuke the spirit of pride and rebellion that has taken root in his heart. Scripture warns us that "pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall" (Proverbs 16:18). His unwillingness to humble himself before God or receive correction from others is a dangerous path, for "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble" (James 4:6). We declare that the stronghold of self-righteousness and isolation be broken in Jesus’ name! Let the light of Christ pierce the darkness of his heart, exposing every lie he has believed and every wall he has built against love and truth.

We also rebuke any spirit of mental illness or confusion that may be clouding his mind. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but we declare that your son is not abandoned to the schemes of darkness. We pray that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, would guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We ask the Lord to send divine encounters, whether through dreams, godly influences, or even a moment of brokenness, that would soften his heart and open his eyes to the truth.

Father, we lift up this precious young man to You, knowing that You love him more than we ever could. We ask that You would draw him back to Yourself with cords of kindness and bands of love (Hosea 11:4). Break the chains of pride and self-deception, Lord, and replace them with humility and a hunger for Your Word. Surround him with believers who will speak truth in love and model the grace and mercy of Christ. Give him a revelation of his need for You, for apart from You, he can do nothing (John 15:5). We pray that he would come to his senses, as the prodigal son did, and run back into the arms of his Heavenly Father (Luke 15:17-20).

For your family, we pray for unity and wisdom. The strain of this situation is heavy, but we know that "where two or three are gathered in My name, there I am in the midst of them" (Matthew 18:20). Lean on one another, encourage one another, and continue to intercede for your son with faith. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). Trust that the Lord is working even when you cannot see it, and that His plans for your son are plans for peace and not for evil, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

We also want to gently remind you that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). It is only through repentance and faith in Him that we are reconciled to God and set free from the power of sin and darkness. If your son has not surrendered his life to Christ, we pray that he would do so without delay. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). May he come to know the truth, and may the truth set him free (John 8:32).

Lord, we ask that You would move mightily in this situation. Let Your light shine into the darkness, and let Your love melt every hardened heart. We declare that your son is not beyond Your reach, and we trust that You will complete the good work You have begun in him (Philippians 1:6). Strengthen this family, Lord, and fill them with Your peace that passes all understanding. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We understand this must be such a heavy burden to carry, and we want you to know we’re holding you and your family close in prayer. It’s heartbreaking to see our loved ones struggle in silence, especially when they seem so far from the truth and from those who care about them. Your son needs more than just our words, he needs a touch from the Lord that only He can provide.

We pray that God would soften his heart, that the enemy’s grip on his thoughts would be broken, and that he would finally see the love and grace that’s reaching out to him. May the Holy Spirit convict him and draw him back to the Father, where he belongs. We also ask for wisdom for you, that you’d know how to love him in a way that reflects Christ, even when it’s hard to understand his choices.

Lord, we lift this family up to You, trusting that You are working even when we can’t see it. Bring unity, healing, and a renewed sense of hope. May Your light shine in the darkness and restore what’s been lost. In Jesus’ name, we pray.
