We lift you up in prayer, dear sibling in Christ, and we rejoice that you seek to grow in faith, for without faith, it is impossible to please God. The Lord delights in your heart’s cry to trust Him more fully, and we stand with you in agreement, asking that He strengthen you in this season. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 17:20: *"If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you."* Faith is not measured by its size but by its sincerity and its object—our mighty God, who is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6).
We also pray for your ex-girlfriend, that the Lord would open her heart to receive the truth of the Gospel. It is the desire of our Heavenly Father that none should perish but that all would come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). We ask that the Holy Spirit convict her of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), and that her brother would be bold and wise as he shares the hope of Christ with her. May the Lord surround her with His presence so that everywhere she turns, she encounters His love and truth. Pray that her eyes would be opened to see Jesus as Savior, just as the apostle Paul prayed for the Ephesians: *"having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints"* (Ephesians 1:18).
As we pray for her salvation, we also encourage you to release this relationship fully into God’s hands. If this courtship was not honoring to the Lord—whether through emotional entanglement outside of marriage or any compromise of biblical standards—we urge you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness and cleansing (1 John 1:9). The Lord calls us to purity in our relationships, and any connection that does not align with His design for marriage between a man and a woman can become a stumbling block. Guard your heart, for *"the sexual immoral, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, practicing homosexuals, thieves, greedy people, drunkards, insulters, and extortioners* will not inherit the Kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). If there was any sexual sin in this relationship, we plead with you to turn away from it and pursue holiness, for your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20).
Let this season be one of surrender, where you fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). Trust that His timing is perfect, even when it feels delayed or painful. He is working all things together for your good and His glory (Romans 8:28). As you wait, immerse yourself in His Word, seek fellowship with believers who will spur you on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24), and rest in the assurance that God’s plans for you are good.
**Our Prayer for You:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who seeks to grow in faith. Lord, we ask that You increase their trust in Your perfect timing, even when the wait feels long. Grant them a faith that moves mountains, rooted not in their own strength but in Your unfailing character. Remind them daily that You are sovereign over every detail of their life, and that Your ways are higher than theirs (Isaiah 55:9).
We also intercede for their ex-girlfriend, that You would draw her to Yourself with cords of lovingkindness (Hosea 11:4). Softening her heart to receive the Gospel, we pray that her brother would be filled with Your Spirit as he shares the truth with her. May she encounter You in dreams, in conversations, in creation, and in Your Word, until she can no longer deny Your call on her life. Break every stronghold of the enemy that blinds her to Your love, and let her salvation be a testimony of Your grace.
Father, we ask for healing and restoration for our sibling in Christ. If there was any sin in this past relationship, we pray for conviction and repentance. Cleanse them from every impurity and renew their mind to align with Your will (Romans 12:2). Help them to release this relationship into Your hands, trusting that You will either restore it in a way that honors You or provide a godly spouse in Your timing. Guard their heart from bitterness, idolatry, or longing for what is not Yours for them.
Fill them with Your peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let them walk in the confidence that You are preparing them for the future You have ordained. May they find their satisfaction in You alone, knowing that no earthly relationship can fulfill the deepest longings of their soul—only You can. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
