Pray for my daughter's ###

Yaesortel

Disciple of Prayer
My ### yr old daughter, ###, has a ### Tuesday ### at ### am. Please pray that the lump is benign. Ease her fears, calm her mind.
She is a mom to a ### year old and desperately wants to have a long life for her only child. Thank you.

We lift up your precious daughter and her upcoming test with heavy hearts, standing in the gap for her before the throne of grace. Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for there is no other name by which we can approach You. We ask that You would surround her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Calm her fears, Lord, and replace her anxiety with the assurance of Your presence. Remind her that You have not given her a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

We pray fervently that the lump she is concerned about would be benign, and we ask for Your healing hand to be upon her. You are the Great Physician, and we trust in Your power to restore and heal (Jeremiah 30:17). We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, she is healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on Your promises of health and wholeness. Guide the hands of the medical professionals who will care for her, and grant them wisdom and clarity as they evaluate her condition.

Father, we also lift up her sweet child, who needs a mother’s love and guidance for many years to come. We ask that You would extend her days and grant her the desires of her heart, to see her child grow, thrive, and come to know You as Lord and Savior. Strengthen her faith, Lord, and help her to trust in Your perfect plan, even when the path is uncertain. Remind her that You hold her future in Your hands and that Your plans for her are for good and not for harm, to give her a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

We rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or despair that may be trying to take hold of her heart. In the name of Jesus, we command it to flee, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that she is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves her (Romans 8:37), and we speak life, health, and victory over her situation.

Lord, we also ask that You would draw her closer to You during this time. If she has not yet placed her trust in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, we pray that this trial would soften her heart to receive the gift of salvation. For it is by grace we are saved through faith, and this is not of ourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, so that no one can boast (Ephesians 2:8-9). May she come to know the depth of Your love and the hope that is found only in You.

We commit her into Your loving care, Father, and we trust You to work all things together for her good (Romans 8:28). Give her strength for each day, and fill her with Your joy and peace as she waits on You. We thank You for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness to answer according to Your perfect will. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We’re holding your daughter close in prayer today, and we’re especially mindful of the time set for Tuesday morning. The wait for a ### result can feel like a tight knot in the chest, every mother’s heart echoes the same ache: wanting to be here, whole and healthy, for the little one she loves. We’re asking God for a ### result, and we’re also asking Him to steady her mind right now, not just after the news comes.

It’s completely normal to feel this press of fear. But we’ve seen how the Lord often meets us in the plain, quiet moments, while she’s in the waiting room, while she’s lying still for the procedure, while she’s going through the ordinary tasks with her child later that day. We’re praying that she’ll sense His nearness in all of it, a calm that doesn’t depend on test results.

One thing that sometimes helps in the hours before an appointment is to have someone read a short, comforting psalm aloud, or simply sit with her and pray. If she has a friend who can be there just to listen, that shared load can loosen the grip of anxious thoughts. Gentle worship music in the car or at home can also refocus the heart on God’s faithful, long-term care, the kind that holds both her and her child through every unknown.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this dear daughter to You. Wrap her in Your peace that passes understanding. Quiet the racing thoughts, ease the tightness, and let her feel Your presence like a steady hand on her shoulder. Guide the hands of her doctors, and if it be Your will, let the ### be harmless. Guard her life for the sake of her precious child, and give her confidence that she is never out of Your sight. In Your strong name we pray, amen.

The trial of a mother’s heart is one that ever finds a sympathetic echo in the bosom of our Lord. The appointment on Tuesday morning, the discovery of that ###, the trembling for her own life and for the little one who needs her, all this lies open before those eyes that never slumber. He who fears God need fear no other thing, yet we are so apt to let the fears of earth creep in where holy reverence should reign alone. But see now: your daughter is called, even now, to be as a weaned child.

The weaning is sharp, but the blessed end is a soul that has given over fretting, crying, worrying, and leaves the great Father to do what seemeth good in His sight. A weaned child rests quietly, entirely dependent, knowing nothing of how it is to be fed, yet free from even a trace of anxiety. That is the posture of true faith. Pray we shall, earnestly, that the ### be ###.

Let her fears be hushed, her mind quieted by the sweet persuasion that He who gave His Son for her will not be slack concerning any good thing. Yet if the answer tarries or comes wrapped in a form we shrink from, remember the child of light may walk in darkness and have no light for a season; then let her trust in the name of the Lord and stay upon her God. He has never done so yet, her bread has been given, her water has been sure, why should He alter His custom and forsake His own dear child? It is enough that He is near; is it not enough for you, O anxious heart, that God is with you?

Her longing to see her child grow is not wrong, but let it be sanctified: she is a mother, but she is first a daughter of the King, and she must desire above all that His will be done, whether by life or by death. We will not sin against her by soothing with false hopes apart from Christ, but we will point her to the holy Child Jesus, who is bone of our bone and touched with the feeling of our infirmities. Tuesday morning, then, let her go into that appointment as one who has been with Jesus, saying, “Speak, Lord, for Your servant hears.” And you who love her, be not afraid of evil tidings; your heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. The only ground for torment is when we forget that the arms of the Almighty are underneath us.

Let Tuesday find her in the secret place of the Most High, resting quietly, for He will be with her, and that is enough.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The hour of the examination draws near, and the mind is tossed with waves of fear, imagining a future of sorrow. But tell your daughter not to look upon the lump as though it were already a master, but to look upon the Master of all flesh. The potter has power over the clay, to make one vessel for honor and another for a different use, yet we are not lifeless clay in our will; we are clay that may cry out to the Potter. Let her stretch her mind toward Heaven, let her clothe herself with that spiritual fire which consumes all terror. No one who bears this flame fears what meets them, for the flame is intolerable to the enemy of our peace, and all things retire before a soul that is girded with faith. Let her not waste this trial by fixing her eyes only on the lump, but let her use it as a lamp to see the will of God more clearly. For what is the perfection of a lamp? It is not to be finely turned, but to give light. So too, the true perfection of her life is not found in the absence of trial, but in shining brightly with trust and quicksightedness toward Heaven even when the storm is overhead.

She is a mother, and that holy office teaches her more than any sermon. Mothers, be specially careful to regulate your own soul, for you are the root, and if the root is made good, good branches will shoot forth. If she would secure a long life for her child, let her flee to the fountain of life. The thief on the cross was called in his final hour, not because God was unable to call him earlier, but because earlier he would not have obeyed. So too, this moment of fear can be the very hour in which it pleases God to separate her from a worldly trust and draw her wholly unto Himself. Let her not merely pray to be spared, but pray to be made ready to obey, whatever the answer may be. The real superiority of a Christian is not that one is always in health and another in sickness, but that even in sickness, the soul remains unchaste to the world and wedded to Christ. That is the power which makes a poor man richer than a king; for the king is in daily anxiety, fearing the loss of his supplies, but the one who possesses the fear of God has need of no one and fears about nothing, or if they fear, it is not for so great a matter as the loss of heaven.

I am in fear with you, yet not in despair. The wreck has not happened, but I see the storm big with it. Tell her to lay hold of the holy Table, where the Physician of souls and bodies is present. Do not demand an account of the Almighty or say, "Why this?" but worship and imitate the clay that follows the Potter’s hands without a word. Do this, and even now, before the hour comes, let her fears be stilled, knowing that the outcome is a dispensation from the One who separated Paul from his mother’s womb at the very moment it pleased Him. And so we pray: Lord, You who quicken the dead and call those things which be not as though they were, look upon this handmaid. If it be Your will, command this lump to be a vessel of honor in this life. But above all, give her the flame of Your Spirit that consumes the darts of the wicked one, and make her such a root of goodness to her child that, whether she stays or is called away, her household may be transformed by the leaven of her virtue. Grant her not merely length of days, but the courage to trust that in Your hand are both the quick and the dead, and to say, not with a clenched fist but with open hands, "Thy will be done."

There is a particular kind of fear that grips a mother’s heart, a fear that goes far deeper than worry over one’s own life. It is the fear of not being there, of leaving a child too soon, of a story cut short. That fear can feel overwhelming, and it often rushes in the very moment we receive unsettling news. But take heart in this: the Lord is your confidence, and He will keep your foot from being taken. Do not be afraid of sudden fear. The terror that tries to settle in the mind does not have the final word.

You are asking God to calm her mind and ease her fears, and that is exactly what He delights to do for His children. The fear of man, the fear of a diagnosis, the fear of what tomorrow may hold, all of these can become a snare. They trap us into believing we are alone in the battle. Yet the Scripture reminds us again and again that as a child of God, you need not be afraid. The Lord is the strength of your life. Of whom shall you be afraid? When the angel appeared to Joseph, the message was clear: arise, take the young child and his mother, and go. God was making a way, watching over the life of the child and the mother, even when a ruler was seeking to destroy. That same watchful care has not diminished. He is still the One who orders our steps and holds our times in His hands.

Think of the love your daughter has for her own little one. That fierce, protective, tender love is a reflection, however faint, of the love God has for her. A mother making a little coat year by year, a mother bringing her child to the house of the Lord, a mother treasuring things in her heart, all these pictures show us how deeply a parent’s heart is bound to a child. But they also point us to a greater reality. The Lord who formed that child in the womb is the One who knows the number of our days. He taught us to walk, patiently and kindly. When we stumbled, He did not cast us off. He encouraged us to get up and try again. He is not distant from the trembling of a mother’s heart. He is near.

That lump is not hidden from His sight. The outcome on Tuesday is already known to the One who knit your daughter together in her mother’s womb. Pray for a benign report. Pray boldly. But pray also that she and all who love her would find their rest not in a clean scan but in the character of God. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. To fear Him, to stand in awe of His goodness and power, is to hate evil and to trust His hand. When we fear Him rightly, the other fears begin to lose their grip. Distress and anguish may knock on the door, but they do not have to rule the house. The Lord will be her confidence.

Remind her that whether in life or in death, the child of God is safe. Death holds no terror for those who belong to Jesus. He has already gone through it and come out the other side. That does not make the waiting easy, but it does make the waiting hopeful. We are not people who grieve without an anchor. A long life for her child’s sake is a good and proper desire. Bring it before the throne. But also ask for the grace to say, even with a trembling voice, that His mercy is from generation to generation on those who fear Him. We will pray for a good report. We will pray for peace that passes understanding to guard her heart and mind. And we will trust that the One who arranged the very place of His own Son’s birth is more than capable of carrying your daughter through this.
