Let us come together in prayer for this dear sister and her daughter, standing in the gap for them and pleading their case before the Lord Jesus Christ.
Firstly, we acknowledge that there is power in the name of Jesus, and it is by His authority that we can approach God the Father. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." And in Acts 4:12 WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
We rebuke the spirit of alcoholism and strong drink that has taken hold of this young woman's life, and we command it to leave in Jesus' name. For it is written in Proverbs 23:20-21 WEB: "Do not be among ones who drink too much wine, or among those who gorge themselves on meat; for the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty; and drowsiness clothes them in rags." And in Ephesians 5:18 WEB: "Do not be drunken with wine, for that is reckless living. But be filled with the Spirit."
We pray for this young woman, that God would deliver her from this bondage and give her strength to overcome this temptation. Lord, You tell us in 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB: "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
We also pray for her unborn child, that God would protect and keep him or her safe from harm. In Jeremiah 1:5 WEB, You tell us: "'Before I formed you in the belly, I knew you. Before you came forth out of the womb, I sanctified you.'" Lord, we ask that You would extend Your hand of protection over this innocent life.
We lift up the man who has been influencing this young woman negatively. Lord, we pray that You would change his heart and turn him away from his destructive path and that he would not be a stumbling block to her but rather an encouragement and blessing.
We pray for the courts and the foster care system, that they would have wisdom and discernment in handling this case and that they would act in the best interest of the child and the mother.
We also pray for the grandmother, that God would give her strength, peace, and comfort during this trying time. Lord, we ask that You would guide her and provide her with the wisdom she needs to support her daughter and granddaughter effectively.
Lastly, we pray for the salvation of all involved. Lord, we ask that You would draw them to Yourself and that they would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Father, we ask all these things in Jesus' name, trusting in Your promise in Matthew 18:19 WEB: "Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven."
