The Choice of a Husband
Women of America
The Certainty and Freeness of Divine Grace
We join you in prayer in Jesus name and we thank you for inviting us to pray with love for this deep desire of your heart for marriage. We rejoice that you are seeking a wife according to God's design and that you desire to love and to be loved within the lifelong covenant of marriage between a man and a woman as God ordained.

We are encouraged that you asked in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As it is written, There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Timothy 2:5 and Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. We give thanks that you come in His name.

The desire for a godly marriage is good and holy. Scripture says, Yahweh God said, It is not good that the man should be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him, Genesis 2:18 and He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh, Proverbs 18:22. Marriage is not merely companionship but a picture of Christ's love for His church and is to be entered into with prayer, purity and purpose. We pray that you will find a wife who is first a faithful believer in Jesus Christ, for we are taught, Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, 2 Corinthians 6:14. A courtship that honors God looks not for a partner but for a spouse, with the goal of a Christ centered marriage, and it keeps itself pure from fornication and sexual immorality until the marriage covenant, as God calls us to honor Him with our bodies.

We hear your longing for a woman who will truly have interest in knowing you and who will persevere in love until you belong to one another in marriage. That steadfast, committed love reflects the love described in scripture, Love is patient and is kind, Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things, 1 Corinthians 13:4,7. We encourage you while you wait to also be preparing your own heart to be that kind of steadfast, loving, godly husband who will also not give up but will love sacrificially as Christ loved the church, Ephesians 5:25.

We also encourage you to delight in the Lord and seek His kingdom first while you wait. Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart, Psalm 37:4 and But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well, Matthew 6:33. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight, Proverbs 3:5-6. For we know the thoughts that God thinks toward you are thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future, Jeremiah 29:11. Rather than waiting in isolation, we encourage you to be planted in a local Bible believing church, to serve, to fellowship, and to be known in community, for that is often the practical way God brings a godly spouse into our lives and allows a relationship to grow in accountability and wisdom.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up our brother to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know his name, his place, and the loneliness and hope in his heart. You see his desire for a wife and for a marriage that honors You. We ask that according to Your perfect will and timing You would lead him to the woman You have prepared for him, a woman who loves You above all, who is faithful, kind, and who will have genuine interest in knowing him and walking with him toward marriage. Make it possible in practical ways for them to meet and to get to know one another in purity, in wisdom, and with godly counsel surrounding them. Prepare them both even now, shape his character to be a godly husband and prepare her to be a godly wife, so that when You bring them together they may encourage one another in faith and build a home that glorifies You. Guard him from discouragement and from idolizing marriage above You, and help him to rest in Your love while he waits. We ask for Your favor and Your miracles in his life, not according to our wishes but according to Your good and perfect will, and we trust that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. Keep his courtship pure and his heart steadfast until that covenant day when he can say she is his and he is hers in the bond of marriage. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

Thank you for sharing this desire so honestly with us. We hear how much you long to love and be loved in marriage, to meet someone who truly wants to know you and to build a faithful life together.

Seasons of waiting can feel heavy and lonely, even when other parts of life are going well. It is good that you are bringing this longing directly to God and asking for His leading in practical ways.

One step that often helps in this kind of waiting is staying rooted in steady, everyday community. Being consistently present in a local church, serving alongside others or being part of a small group, creates natural space where people get to know each other without pressure over time. It also allows friends and mentors who know your character well to encourage you and walk with you in discernment.

We will keep praying for you, that God gives you wisdom and patience in this season, keeps your heart hopeful and at peace, and in His timing opens clear and practical ways for you to meet and really get to know one another if it is His will.

Father, we lift our brother to You in Jesus' name. You know his heart and his desire for marriage. Give him peace as he waits, surround him with good community and friendship, and guide his steps with wisdom. Lead him clearly and, according to Your will, make a way for the right relationship to begin and grow in a healthy, practical way. Keep him close to You through it all. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer has been heard and it is a good and holy desire you have expressed, for marriage is ordained of God and is a most sacred thing. It is not a less sacred thing to be the married wife than it is to be the virgin consecrated to Christ, and the very crown of marriage is mutual delight and complacency where husband and wife become one, as Christ is one with His Church. We rejoice that you seek not merely companionship, but a covenant of one man and one woman for life, where love is pure and where both dwelling together and the union of the body are kept within that covenant alone, as the Lord has appointed.

I would urge you while you wait to set your heart first upon finding Christ Himself. David made a vow about finding the ark because his heart was set upon it, and so should your heart be set upon Christ. To be married to Christ is the first and chief marriage, for we are His and wholly His. Seek Him in His Word under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and trust Him though the waiting be long. With Job you may say, Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him, and with the same patience receive all from the Lord's hand. There are seasons when the child of God endures loneliness for want of godly society, and our Savior Himself knew what it was to be left alone when He most needed human sympathy. He knows your loneliness and He is able to keep you and to provide for you.

Therefore let us pray together.

O Lord God, our Father in heaven, we come to Thee in the name of Jesus Christ, Thy Son, through whom alone is salvation, and without whom no man cometh unto the Father. Thou knowest this man who has asked for prayer, Thou knowest his dwelling and his longing and his hope. We ask Thee to grant him grace to wait upon Thee with a godly fear and a quiet trust. If it be Thy will, in Thy good time and providence, bring into his path a godly woman who loveth Thee above all, a woman of faith and virtue who will have a true interest in knowing him and who will cleave to him in love until they be one in holy marriage. Make it possible in practical ways for them to meet and to know one another with purity and wisdom, under the counsel of Thy Word and Thy people. Keep them both from all that is outside Thy holy ethic for marriage, and prepare them each to be a loving husband and a loving wife who do not ask merely what is my duty but who delight in one another as Christ delighteth in His Church. Work, we pray, what men call miracles, but what with Thee are acts of sovereign mercy, according to Thy perfect will. Let Thy will be done in his life, and let him be found ready, arrayed in the righteousness of Christ, whether Thou answerest soon or tarriest long.

We commit him to Thy keeping and pray that Thou wilt hedge him about with Thy grace and lead him to such godly company as shall help him on the way. Hear us for Jesus sake. Amen.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, and give you to rest in His love while you wait upon His provision.

Your prayer has been received and we join you in bringing it before God in the name of Jesus Christ, with love and with hope in His mercy.

We pray that the Lord, who alone is the way of salvation, will guide you to the woman He wills for you to love and to marry, and that He will make a practical way for you to meet and to come to know one another in a manner that is orderly and honorable before Him. As marriage is honorable and pure, we ask that He keep you both in holiness, which is chaste and faithful living, and that your life together, if it is His will to grant it, would be a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, as God ordained from the beginning.

We pray that He will send one who knows the Lord and trembles at His word, one who is poor in spirit and contrite in heart, lowly and meek and patient, for such a disposition is the foundation of every good work in a home. We pray that she would have a sincere interest in knowing you, and that you would have the same sincere care for her, each regarding the other with lowliness of mind and sobriety, not thinking more highly of yourselves than you ought, but serving one another in love.

We also pray that you would be prepared for this gift. Marriage is not a hindrance in itself, but the purpose of the heart makes it either a blessing or a burden. Use this time of waiting with moderation and wisdom, giving yourself to prayer, to good work, and to growth in faith, so that when God opens the door, you may enter it with a steady and healthy mind, able to love faithfully and to bear with patience.

Just as at a marriage the bridegroom comes to the bride, so Christ came to our poor nature to lift it up and bring it to the Father's house. In that same grace we ask Him to come to you in your need, to provide what is lacking, and to work what you have called miracles, not according to mere desire, but according to His wise and loving will. May He grant you clarity to recognize His leading, courage to persevere, and peace to wait on His timing.

We will continue to pray for you, that God will keep you in His grace, guard you from all impurity and haste, and if it is His good pleasure, bring you together with a wife in the Lord, with chastity and honor, for His glory and for your joy. May the Lord grant you His favor and establish the work of your hands.

Amen.
