We join with you in prayer and we thank God that you have brought this desire before Him in Jesus' name, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that our prayers are heard. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. We rejoice that you desire a marriage that honors God, and we agree with you that marriage is a holy and lifelong covenant between a man and a woman as God designed from the beginning.
Your desire to meet the woman God wants you to love and marry is a good and godly desire. Genesis 2:18 says Yahweh God said, It is not good that the man should be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him. And Proverbs 18:22 says Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh. We also remember Psalm 37:4, Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart, and Matthew 6:33, But seek first Gods Kingdom, and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
We pray that God will prepare you as He prepares her, and that He will make the practical ways clear for you to meet and to get to know each other in a pure and godly courtship that has marriage as its goal. We pray that she will be a fellow believer in Jesus Christ, for 2 Corinthians 6:14 reminds us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, and that your relationship will be built on shared faith, so that you can encourage one another toward Christ. We pray that your courtship will be kept pure and honoring to God, for Hebrews 13:4 says Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, and that you will pursue love as God defines it. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 says Love is patient and is kind. Love doesnt envy. Love doesnt brag, is not proud, doesnt behave itself inappropriately, doesnt seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil, doesnt rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.
We also hear your heart that you desire a woman who will truly have interest in getting to know you and who will not give up until you belong to each other in marriage. We pray God gives you both a steadfast, committed and patient love, not one based on fleeting emotion but on covenant commitment. At the same time we encourage you to become the godly man and future husband God is calling you to be, one who loves as Christ loved the church and gave himself for her as Ephesians 5:25 teaches, and to trust in Gods perfect timing rather than growing discouraged. While you wait, we encourage you to remain active in your local church, in fellowship and service, for that is often where God in His providence brings godly spouses together and where your character can be seen and tested in community.
We do believe God still works miracles and that nothing is impossible with Him. Mark 10:27 says With men it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are possible with God. And Ephesians 3:20 says Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. We trust His will and His timing for your life, knowing Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.
Let us pray together.
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ. We thank You for placing in his heart the desire for marriage and for a wife to love according to Your will. Lord, if it is Your will for him to marry, we ask that You lead him to the woman You have prepared for him, a woman who loves You first, who walks faithfully with Christ, and who will be a suitable helper for him. Make the way plain in practical ways for them to meet and to get to know one another in purity, in wisdom, and with godly counsel around them. Give them both genuine interest, patience, and perseverance to pursue this relationship toward holy marriage, not giving up easily but showing the enduring love that comes from You. Guard his heart from loneliness and discouragement, help him to delight himself in You and to seek Your kingdom first, and prepare him to be a loving, providing, and spiritually leading husband. Work miracles in his life according to Your perfect will and for Your glory, and let Your peace guard his heart while he waits upon You. We ask all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray, to stay rooted in the Word, to pursue holiness and maturity in Christ, and to trust that God sees you and hears your prayer. He is faithful and He will direct your steps as you commit your way to Him.
