We join with you in prayer and thank God for the godly desire He has placed in your heart for marriage. We rejoice that you are seeking a wife in the Lord and not simply companionship, for marriage is holy and ordained by God as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman. As it is written Yahweh God said, It is not good that the man should be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him Genesis 2:18 and Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh Proverbs 18:22. Your request honors Him and we strongly affirm your pursuit of a godly marriage.

We encourage you to continue to delight yourself in the Lord while you wait and to seek first His Kingdom. Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart Psalm 37:4 and But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33. We also encourage you to become the godly husband God is calling you to be, growing in faith, character and service, and to remain in fellowship where a godly wife may be found, in the local church and among believers. We pray that you will pursue courtship with the goal of marriage to a fellow believer in Christ, for we are taught Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers 2 Corinthians 6:14. A marriage that honors God is one where both husband and wife love the Lord and walk in purity, keeping the marriage bed holy and abstaining from fornication before marriage, and we encourage you to commit to that standard with the woman God brings to you.

We understand your longing for practical ways to get to know one another and for a woman who will show genuine interest and persevere in love with you. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. God knows your loneliness and your hope for miracles, and His plans for you are good For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart Matthew 19:6.

Father in heaven we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, for there is no other name by which we have access to You and by which we are saved. We lift up our brother to You and thank You for his faith and his desire for a godly marriage. Lord we ask that You in Your perfect timing and wisdom bring to him the woman You have prepared for him to love and to marry, a woman who loves You with all her heart, who is faithful, sincere and deeply interested in getting to know him. Give them both practical and providential ways to meet and to build a godly courtship in purity and truth. Remove every obstacle that would keep them apart and make the path clear. Grant miracles in his life according to Your will, not only in bringing a wife but in preparing his heart and hers for a lifelong covenant that glorifies You. Help him to wait with patience and hope, to grow in holiness and to trust Your unfailing love. Let their future marriage reflect the love of Christ for His church and be a testimony of Your grace. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

We have received your request and we join you in prayer before the throne of grace in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, who alone is the way of salvation, and through whom alone we have access to the Father.

We pray with love and with thankfulness for your desire for marriage as God has ordained it, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman wherein the two become one, and which is not a less sacred thing than any other holy calling. It is a good desire to seek a wife in the Lord, and we ask the Lord to guide you according to His perfect will and timing.

We pray that you may above all be found in Christ and that you may find Christ more and more each day, for he who seeks the Savior with his whole heart shall find Him in the appointed way, and when the heart is set upon finding Christ, all other blessings are ordered aright. May the Lord keep you in godly fear and in faithful walking with Him while you wait, trusting Him though the answer tarry, and being able to say, Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.

We ask the Father that if it be His will for you to marry, He would in His providence bring into your life a godly woman who loves the Lord Jesus sincerely, who will be a loving and faithful wife, and that He would make possible in practical and pure ways for you to get to know one another as is fitting for those who would enter into so solemn a covenant. We pray that your acquaintance may be marked by holiness, honesty, patience and mutual delight, and that all that is done between you may be kept within the bounds which God has set for good, with purity before marriage and faithfulness within it.

We pray also for that perseverance in love which does not lightly give up, but which reflects the love of Christ for His Church, that both you and she, if the Lord brings you together, may show a steadfast and gracious commitment to one another, to persevere until you are hers and she is yours in the holy estate of matrimony.

We ask the Lord to work according to His power and mercy in your life, not according to our notions of miracles, but according to His wise and loving purpose, granting what is best for your soul and for His glory. May He grant you contentment in His will, strength to follow the good road of godly principle, and hope in the great marriage of the Lamb, when Christ shall present His Church to Himself.
