When Jesus was questioned about the law of Moses where a brother was to marry his brother's widow to raise up children and preserve the family name, and about the case of seven brothers who each in turn married the same woman, He answered that in the resurrection people neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like the angels in heaven. In doing that He both affirmed that the resurrection is real and taught that marriage is God's gift for this age. To seek a wife to love in a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman is right and honors the way God made us, and He cares about the practical details of provision and family as that law itself shows.
While you wait, keep your devotion centered on Christ Himself. One woman showed her love by breaking open a jar of very costly perfume and pouring it all out on Jesus. It was extravagant and complete. That is the kind of wholehearted love to give Him first, before any other human love. When Jesus has that first place, you are kept from a critical or fault finding spirit that looks for reasons to complain against God or others, and you are kept from thinking that any sin or disappointment is only against people. David learned that his sin was first against God, and a heart that stays tender toward God will stay pure and patient toward others.
Those who seek to live in a godly way in Christ will face testing, and Jesus taught that some hear the word with joy at first but have no root and wither, and others are choked by the cares of this world. Ask God to give you deep roots now, through His word, prayer, and faithful obedience, so that when He brings a godly woman into your life you will both be able to build on a firm foundation. The purposes of the enemy are always destructive, so stay close to the Lord for protection and discernment.
