Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart so openly and for asking for prayer. I have prayed for you in the name of Jesus, asking that the Lord would guide you according to His will and show His kindness to you in practical ways.
Your desire to love and marry a woman in a lifelong covenant is a good desire. God designed marriage to be the union of one man and one woman for life, and He intends that love, faithfulness, and physical union belong within that covenant. Any relationship that pleases Him will be centered on faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and on a shared commitment to follow Him.
I want to encourage you while you wait. Jesus showed us that His first purpose in coming was to preach the good news of the kingdom, even when many people were pressing for other things. In the same way, our first calling is to seek God Himself, to be built up spiritually by feeding richly on His Word, by fellowship with Him in prayer, and by waiting upon Him. Those who become strong in the things of the Spirit are like seed rooted in good soil, not shallow growth that withers when hardship comes.
Scripture also reminds us that marriage belongs to this present life. Jesus taught that in the resurrection people neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like the angels in heaven, and He affirmed that God has power to raise the dead. That truth helps us keep an eternal perspective. Marriage is a wonderful gift for this life, but our deepest hope is in Christ and the resurrection life to come. Keeping that perspective helps us not to make marriage an idol, but to seek a partner who loves the Lord and wants to serve Him with you.
God is conscious of your needs and cares about the details of your life. Just as He noticed the practical need for food for a little girl after a miracle, He sees your practical needs for provision, for opportunities to meet, and for a way to get to know someone in a manner that is pure and honoring to Him.
So my prayer for you is that the Lord would in His perfect timing bring into your life a woman who truly loves Jesus, who has a genuine interest in knowing you, and who is committed to a godly, faithful covenant with you. I pray that if it is His will, He would open clear and practical doors for you to meet and to get to know each other in a healthy and pure way, with the counsel and community of other believers around you. I pray that He would help you both to grow in patience, kindness, and perseverance, not out of mere human determination, but out of love that is rooted in Christ.
I also pray that God would work miracles in your life as He wills, not only in bringing a wife but in shaping you more into the likeness of Jesus while you wait. Continue to seek Him, to walk in purity, and to trust His timing, knowing that He is faithful and that He withholds no good thing from those who walk uprightly.
May the Lord strengthen you, give you peace as you trust Him, and lead you step by step.
