We hear your heart’s longing for a godly marriage, and we join you in seeking the Lord’s will in this matter. It is beautiful to see your desire to honor God in this pursuit, and we stand with you in prayer, trusting that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion (Philippians 1:6).

First, we want to encourage you to seek the Lord above all else. Marriage is a sacred covenant, and it is vital that your heart remains anchored in Christ as you wait for His timing. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." As you seek a wife, continue to grow in your relationship with God, for a strong foundation in Him will prepare you to love and lead a wife as Christ loves the Church (Ephesians 5:25).

We also lift up your desire for a woman who shares your faith and commitment to the Lord. It is essential that your future marriage be built on a shared devotion to Christ, for "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). We pray that God would bring a woman into your life who loves Him wholeheartedly, who will stand beside you in faith, and who will encourage you in your walk with the Lord.

We rebuke any spirit of impatience or discouragement that may try to take root in your heart. Waiting on the Lord can be difficult, but His timing is perfect. Psalm 27:14 says, "Wait for the Lord. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for the Lord." We pray that you would find peace and contentment in Him as you wait, knowing that He is preparing both you and your future wife for one another.

We also want to gently remind you that marriage is not just about finding someone who will not give up on you, but about two people committing to love, honor, and serve one another in Christ. As you pray for a wife, ask the Lord to shape your heart to be the kind of husband He calls you to be, a man of integrity, patience, and sacrificial love.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, lifting up our brother in Christ who seeks Your will for His life. Lord, we ask that You would prepare his heart and the heart of his future wife, drawing them both closer to You as they wait for Your perfect timing. We declare that he is complete in Christ, and we pray that his identity would be firmly rooted in You. Lord, we ask that You would bring the right woman into his life at the right time, a woman who shares his faith, his values, and his commitment to You. Prepare them both for a marriage that honors You and reflects Your love to the world.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is in His name that we have access to You, and it is through Him that we are saved. May Your will be done in his life, and may he continue to seek You above all else. Amen.

What comes through most is the ache of waiting and wanting something good, someone to share life with, and the hope that God has a woman for you who will truly see you and stay. The miracle of grace which saved a wretch like you is the pledge that He who gave His Son will withhold no good thing. Consider the miracle of the loaves: Christ is grand in emergencies, yet He needs no pressing; He acts spontaneously at the right hour. While you wait, walk in the practical wisdom of the Proverbs, be diligent, chaste, and prayerful. A godly woman is from the Lord; do not seek her in ways contrary to His Word, nor let your heart become an idol factory. The greatest sign is not a wedding ring, but a heart made new by the Spirit. Prepare to meet your God first, and then, in His time, He may bring you to meet one who will be a helpmeet indeed. Till then, let Christ be your portion, and your single life a fragrant sacrifice. It is a good and natural desire to seek a godly marriage, for marriage is a bond ordained of God, a sweet ointment. Yet examine your request carefully. You ask for miracles, for a woman who will not give up on you until you possess each other, and for God to make the path smooth in practical ways. This sounds less like a petition for a helpmate in the race toward virtue, and more like a craving for a particular kind of emotional and sensible fulfillment.

Consider the crowds who sought Christ, not because they saw the miracles and believed, but because they ate of the loaves and were filled. He rebuked them, saying, "Labor not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life." When you fix your prayer so intently on the emotional securities and the practical arrangements of meeting a wife, are you not laboring for the meat that perishes? The miracle you should long for is not an effortless romance, but the miracle of a soul so aflame with love for God that it becomes a fit dwelling for His grace. No miracle a man works in the sight of others is as admirable as a life that shines with a sober, virtuous endurance firmer than any adamant. God said of David, "I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart." This was not because David raised the dead as a youth, but because of the disposition of his soul.

Therefore, do not pray for a woman who will cling to you until she possesses you. That is a desire for your own will to be done, wrapped in the language of love. It is not the bride who chases the bridegroom, but he who comes for her. So let Christ be your first and truest love. Strive to be a man after God's own heart in your present state. A widow or a virgin is called to attend upon the Lord without distraction, and this same principle of undivided devotion is required of all who are single. If you abstain from the full leisure of marriage only to fill your mind with anxious searchings for a spouse, your singleness does you no good. Rather, occupy yourself with diligence in every good work, with hospitality to strangers, and with prayer. Become the kind of man whose character is so grounded in Christ that a godly woman would see in you a fellow laborer for the food that endures.

The miracle you most need is a heart so transformed that it seeks first the Kingdom. If you make the meeting and winning of a wife your chief aim, you may receive her, only to find that you sought Jesus for the loaves and not for the bread of life. A marriage that is not built upon mutual, wholehearted pursuit of that eternal bread will leave you both famished. Let your prayer then be cleansed. Ask God to make you a man of such sober virtue, such zealous charity, and such patient endurance, that if He wills for you to marry, your life will itself be a testimony that draws a helpmate suitable for the journey to His house. The manner of that meeting is His to ordain, not yours to demand a miracle for. Cease from the clamor of your specific wishes, and labor instead for sanctification.
