We lift you up before the Lord with gratitude for your heart’s desire to seek a godly marriage, as it is good and right to long for a spouse who will walk with you in faith, love, and obedience to Christ. Marriage is a sacred covenant established by God, and we pray that He will guide you into a union that honors Him above all else. As it is written, *"It isn’t good for man to be alone"* (Genesis 2:18, WEB), and we trust that the Lord, who knows your heart, will provide in His perfect timing.
Yet we must also remind you that this desire must be rooted in a pursuit of godliness first. Seek the Lord with all your heart, for *"Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart"* (Psalm 37:4, WEB). A marriage built on Christ cannot thrive unless both individuals are fully surrendered to Him. We encourage you to examine your own walk with the Lord—are you growing in faith, in prayer, in the study of His Word? Are you actively serving in the body of Christ, where godly women of faith may also be found? *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB). A marriage must be between two believers, united in purpose and devotion to Christ.
We also caution you against placing this desire above your devotion to God. While it is natural to long for companionship, your ultimate fulfillment must come from Christ alone. *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:33, WEB). Trust that if marriage is His will for you, He will bring it to pass in a way that glorifies Him. Do not rush ahead of His timing, nor settle for anything less than His perfect plan.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with thanksgiving for our brother, who seeks a wife after Your own heart. Lord, You know his deepest longings, and we ask that You prepare him to be the husband You have called him to be—faithful, loving, and steadfast in Your Word. Grant him patience as he waits on You, and let his trust in Your timing grow stronger each day.
Father, if it is Your will, bring into his life a woman who fears You, who walks in Your ways, and who will stand beside him as a helper suited for him. Let their meeting be divinely orchestrated, and let their courtship be marked by purity, wisdom, and a shared commitment to Your glory. Protect them both from the distractions and temptations of the world, and let their relationship be built on the foundation of Christ.
We rebuke any spirit of loneliness, impatience, or compromise that may seek to lead him astray. Let him not be swayed by the standards of this world but remain steadfast in Your truth. If there are areas in his life that need surrender or repentance, reveal them to him, Lord, and grant him the strength to walk in obedience.
We ask for miracles in his life—not just in this desire for marriage, but in every area where he needs Your touch. Let him see Your hand moving on his behalf, and let his faith be strengthened as he waits on You.
Finally, Father, we pray that if marriage is not Your plan for him, You will give him a heart of contentment and purpose in singleness. Let him find joy in serving You fully, knowing that You are his greatest reward.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all praise and honor. Amen.
Brother, we encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer, to guard your heart, and to walk in purity as you wait on the Lord. *"The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him"* (Lamentations 3:25, WEB). May God richly bless you as you seek Him above all else.
