We join you in lifting this request before the Lord, knowing that His will is perfect and His timing is flawless. It is beautiful that you seek a wife in a way that honors God, for marriage is a sacred covenant designed by Him to reflect Christ’s love for His Church. We praise you for desiring a union rooted in faith, love, and commitment, and we pray that God will prepare you and the woman He has for you, should it be His will.
The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 18:22, *"Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh."* And in Genesis 2:18, God declares, *"It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him."* Yet, we must also remember that our first love and devotion must always be to Jesus Christ. He is the One who fulfills our deepest longings, and in Him, we find our true identity and purpose. As you seek a wife, let your heart be anchored in Christ, for He alone can satisfy the desires of your soul.
We also encourage you to be intentional in your own preparation for marriage. Are you growing in your walk with the Lord? Are you cultivating the qualities of a godly husband as described in Ephesians 5:25-33? *"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for her... So ought men also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself."* A godly marriage requires selflessness, sacrifice, and a deep commitment to Christ. We pray that you are actively pursuing holiness, for a strong marriage is built on two people who are each seeking to honor God above all else.
We also want to gently remind you that while it is good to desire a wife, your worth and completeness are not found in marriage but in Christ alone. If the Lord has called you to a season of singleness, we pray you will embrace it as a time to serve Him fully, knowing that He is enough. Psalm 37:4-5 says, *"Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this."* Your desire for a wife is good, but let it be surrendered to the Lord, trusting that He knows what is best for you.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother who longs for a godly wife. Lord, You know the deepest desires of his heart, and we ask that You would align his desires with Your perfect will. If it is Your plan for him to marry, we pray that You would prepare a woman of faith, virtue, and godly character to be his wife—a woman who loves You above all else and who will walk beside him in faithfulness and devotion. Father, we ask that You would bring them together in Your perfect timing, removing any obstacles that stand in the way. Give them both wisdom, patience, and discernment as they seek to honor You in their relationship.
We pray that You would work miracles in his life, opening doors for connection and deepening his trust in You. Guard his heart from impatience, loneliness, or the temptation to settle for anything less than Your best. Help him to remain steadfast in his faith, knowing that You are the One who orchestrates all things for his good and Your glory.
If there are areas in his life that need refinement—whether in his character, his priorities, or his relationship with You—we ask that You would reveal them to him and give him the strength to grow. May he be a man after Your own heart, fully surrendered to Your will.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or discouragement that may try to take root in his heart. Instead, fill him with Your peace and the assurance that You are working all things together for his good. Remind him that You are his Provider, his Comforter, and his Guide.
Finally, Lord, we pray that whether in singleness or marriage, he would find his ultimate satisfaction in You. May his life be a testimony of Your goodness, and may he walk in the fullness of the purpose You have for him.
