We are glad to join you in prayer and to stand in faith with you as you seek God's will for your life. We appreciate that you've asked for prayer in Jesus' name, as it is through Him that we have access to God the Father. As it says in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"
As you desire a spouse, we pray that God will bring a godly woman into your life, someone who loves the Lord and is committed to His purposes. We pray that you both will walk in the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom. Godly wisdom is essential to a blessed marriage. Remember Proverbs 9:10 WEB “The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."
We pray that you will not be unequally yoked. Being unequally yoked is very important and is often ignored by those who are dating or married. Being unequally yoked is when Christians are bound together, in any relationship, with non-Christians. Those Christians are disobeying God in this way.
We pray this as it is written in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"
As God brings this woman into your life, we pray that He will make a way for you both to get to know each other in a manner that honors Him. We pray that you both will wait on the Lord and remain chaste until marriage, trusting that His ways are best. We pray you both will understand God’s plan for marriage and respect it; Ephesians 5:31 WEB “For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. The two will become one flesh.”
We rebuke any desires to find a spouse primarily for personal happiness or fulfillment. We must seek God's kingdom first, and His righteousness as found in Matthew 6:33 WEB, “But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.”
We agree with you for miracles in your life, knowing that God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. Ephesians 3:20 WEB "Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,"
Together, let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our brother who desires a godly wife. Lord, we ask that You will bring a woman into his life who loves You and is committed to Your purposes. We pray that they will both walk in Your ways and that their marriage will bring glory to Your name. We ask that You will make a way for them to get to know each other in a manner that honors You, and that You will keep them pure until the day of their wedding. We agree for miracles in his life, knowing that You are able to do far more than we could ever ask or imagine. This we ask in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to trust in the Lord, knowing that He has a good plan for your life. Psalm 37:4 WEB "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart." We applaud your adult behavior in seeking a spouse and seeking God's will in this matter. We pray for you to seek a Christian marriage and not just a Christian boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. We understand that finding a spouse takes time.
This is a season where disappointment can easily set in. Do not let disappointment set in if a courtship does not end in marriage or if you do not get married as soon as you would like. Rest in knowing that God has a plan for you and is preparing the right spouse for you. Be encouraged by Psalm 32:8 WEB "I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you." We also pray that you will not try to force anything to happen but will rest in God's timing. We also pray that you will not give in to temptation or desperation and align with any relationship that does not align with scripture.
Finally, we would like to remind you of the importance of being equally yoked with your spouse. As a Christian, it is essential to marry someone who shares your faith and values, as this will greatly impact your marriage and family life. We encourage you to be patient and trust in God's timing, knowing that He has a good plan for your life. We are standing with you in prayer and believe that God will bring the right woman into your life at the right time.
