First, we want to affirm your desire for a spouse and a life that honors God—that is a good and holy longing. However, we must gently but firmly address a few things in your request to ensure your path aligns with Scripture.
You mentioned using dating apps and feeling confused by them. While the desire for companionship is natural, we must caution against relying on worldly methods to find a spouse. The Bible warns us not to be conformed to the patterns of this world (Romans 12:2) and to seek wisdom from God rather than the fleeting trends of culture. Dating apps often prioritize superficial connections, emotional entanglements, or even temptation toward impurity—none of which honor God’s design for relationships. Instead, we encourage you to seek a spouse through godly community, such as your church, where you can observe character, faith, and commitment to Christ in others. Proverbs 18:22 says, *"He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord."* Notice it does not say, *"He who swipes right finds a wife."* Trust God’s timing and His methods.
You also expressed a desire for a "girlfriend" with the hope of marriage. We must clarify that Scripture does not endorse casual dating or boyfriend-girlfriend relationships. Courtship, with the clear intention of marriage, is the biblical model. Calm the hectic pace of his life and replace his stress with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen his body, mind, and spirit, and guide him in his career, opening doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8).
Father, we pray for his future marriage. If it is Your will, bring him a wife who loves You above all else—a woman of faith, wisdom, and godly character (Proverbs 31:10-12). Guard his heart from the distractions and temptations of the world, and help him to seek You first in all things (Matthew 6:33). Teach him to wait on Your timing and to trust in Your provision.
