if you do not believe that God exists by now , you never will . what more proof do you possibly need ?

That's the thing. It is not a easy situation. From the one hand Bible is backed up but enough non-christian writes to believe that it is true. From the other hand, not receiving answers for prayers that I have prayed for years, and not seeing signs that are promised to accompany those who believe makes doubt if He exists. From one had, Bible says that God will support preachings with signs and wonders, and even says "Those are the signs that accompany those who believe." From the other hand, Jesus forbids asking for signs.
