We have heard your cry and we stand with you in this painful and difficult situation where you have been found guilty on the testimony of one person against yours with no other evidence. Our hearts ache with you over this miscarriage of justice, and we bring your cause before the Lord who sees all things and judges righteously. The Lord hates false testimony, for it is written Exodus 20:16 You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor, and Proverbs 19:5 A false witness shall not be unpunished. He has shown us that a matter must be established at the mouth of two witnesses or three witnesses Deuteronomy 19:15, and we know that earthly courts can err even when they believe they are doing right, but the Lord is the true Judge who will not be deceived. Psalm 9:7-8 says Yahweh reigns forever, he has prepared his throne for judgment, he will judge the world in righteousness. Psalm 37:5-6 also comforts us, Commit your way to Yahweh, trust also in him, and he will do this, he will make your righteousness shine out like light, and your justice as the noonday.
We also want to speak lovingly about what you shared concerning your ex-romantic partner. We understand this was a romantic relationship outside of marriage, and we must gently address this according to scripture. We believe marriage is honorable and should be strongly endorsed as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and that courtship between a man and a woman should be with the purpose of discerning marriage to a fellow believer in Christ. Sex before or outside of marriage is fornication and is sin before God. Hebrews 13:4 says Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers, and 1 Corinthians 6:18 says Flee sexual immorality. If there was sexual immorality in that relationship, we encourage you to confess it to the Lord and turn from it, seeking His forgiveness and walking in purity going forward, and in any future relationship to pursue a godly spouse in a way that honors God, being equally yoked with a believer as taught in 2 Corinthians 6:14.
We are thankful that you have called upon the name of Jesus and asked Him to intercede, for He is our advocate and intercessor. Romans 8:34 says Christ Jesus is he who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us, and Hebrews 7:25 says he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, seeing that he lives forever to make intercession for them, and 1 Timothy 2:5 reminds us there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved, and we rejoice that you have come in that precious name.
We join together in prayer for you now. Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up our brother to You. You know the truth of what happened, You saw what was done and what was not done, and nothing is hidden from Your eyes. We ask You to intercede as the righteous Judge, to vindicate the innocent and to bring truth into the light. If there is an appeal or further legal recourse, we pray You would grant wisdom to his counsel, favor before those in authority, and that any false testimony would be exposed, for Proverbs 12:19 says Truth's lips will be established forever, but a lying tongue is only momentary. We pray for his ex-partner, that You would convict her heart if she has borne false witness, and bring her to repentance and truth, and we pray You would keep our brother from bitterness or vengeance, for Romans 12:19 says Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. Give him Your peace that surpasses all understanding as promised in Philippians 4:6-7, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and help him to suffer well if he must suffer unjustly, remembering 1 Peter 2:19-20 that if one endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God, this is favorable with God, and following the example of Christ who when he was reviled did not revile in return. May no weapon that is formed against him prosper as You have promised in Isaiah 54:17, and may his righteousness shine forth. We also pray for his future, that You would lead him in holiness and if it is Your will, provide a godly marriage that honors You. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to walk in integrity and to trust the Lord even when the earthly verdict feels crushing. Matthew 5:11-12 says Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake, rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. Do not repay evil for evil, but overcome evil with good through Romans 12:21, and continue to pray for those who have wronged you as Jesus taught in Matthew 5:44. Seek wise and godly legal counsel regarding any appeal, document everything truthfully, and surround yourself with mature believers who can support you and testify to your character. Guard your heart from anger and despair, cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you as 1 Peter 5:7 says, and rest in the knowledge that though man may judge incorrectly for a season, God will in His perfect time and way establish justice. We are praying that God will show your innocence clearly and that His will be done in your life for your good and His glory.
Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
