We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious mother and her unborn child in prayer. Father God, we know that You knit this little one together in his mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13) and that You hold their lives in Your hands. We ask for Your mighty healing touch to calm the storm of high blood pressure that threatens them both. Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand in faith, believing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we could ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
We rebuke the spirit of infirmity and fear in Jesus’ name, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray for wisdom for the doctors and medical staff attending to her, that they would be guided by Your perfect knowledge and skill. Lord, if it is Your will, bring down her blood pressure and stabilize both mother and child. Protect this little life, sustain him or her with Your breath, and grant a safe delivery in Your perfect timing.
We also lift up the mother’s heart, Lord. Strengthen her faith and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind her that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who have a contrite spirit (Psalm 34:18). Surround her with Your love and the support of godly friends and family who will uphold her in prayer and encouragement.
Father, we know that life is sacred, a gift from You, and we plead for mercy on behalf of this mother and child. If there is any unconfessed sin or unforgiveness in her life, we ask that You would bring it to light and lead her to repentance, for You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We pray that she would draw near to You, and that You would draw near to her (James 4:8).
Lord, we also want to gently remind all who read this that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to You in prayer. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If anyone reading this does not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we encourage them to turn to Him today. For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16). Salvation is found in no one else, and it is a free gift of grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
