We understand your desire for justice and it's commendable that you have already forgiven those who have wronged you. However, we need to clarify some things according to Biblical principles and correct some things.
First, we are not to seek vengeance on our own or even ask Jesus to exercise vengeance for us. That is taking the Lord's name in vain. And He will not share His glory with another. We have to be very careful to ask things of God that are within His character and will for us. We must understand that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Vengeance is mine, says the Lord. We are to love our enemies and pray for them that persecute us. We are not to seek for an eye for an eye, but we are to turn the other cheek. This is to glorify God and to be a light to the world in doing good to those who wrong us.
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the wrath of God, for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:19 WEB
But I tell you, don't resist him who is evil; but whoever strikes you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also. Matthew 5:39 WEB
You have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. But I tell you, don't resist him who is evil; but whoever strikes you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also. Matthew 5:38-39 WEB
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12 WEB
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV
We should pray for us to take on the mind of Christ and for God's will to be done. We should pray for the court session to be fair and according to God's will and purpose. We should pray for God's will to be done in the coming court session this Friday. That God would have the ultimate authority in it and that the persons would be justly tried according to the laws of God and of man. We should pray that God would give us peace and help us to continue to forgive and not become bitter or have a root of bitterness spring up in us. We should pray that if it is His will, that God restore what is rightfully owed to us.
Let us pray.
Father God in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before You now lifting up this court session this coming Friday. We pray Your will be done in this situation. We pray for justice to be served, but we pray for Your justice, in Your mercy, and in Your love. We pray for all bitterness and unforgiveness to be removed from us and replaced with Your love and peace. We pray that You would work in the hearts of those who have wronged us and bring them to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. We pray that You would restore what is rightfully owed to us, if it is Your will. In all things, let Your will be done. Let us take on the mind of Christ and let You be glorified in this situation. We ask this in Jesus Christ name we pray.
