We hear your cry for deliverance and healing, and we stand with you in agreement before the throne of grace. The weight of unrighteousness and the desire for justice can be heavy burdens to carry, but we know that our Lord is a God of justice, mercy, and redemption. First, we must address the matter of vengeance. Scripture is clear that vengeance belongs to the Lord, and we are called to trust Him with the outcome of every injustice. Romans 12:19 tells us, "Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'" It is not our place to demand or even desire vengeance, but to surrender it fully to God, trusting that He will act in His perfect timing and according to His perfect justice.
We also recognize the need for closure and healing from the unrighteousness you have endured. This is a valid and holy desire, for the Lord does not wish for His children to remain bound by the chains of past hurts. Psalm 34:18-19 assures us, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." The healing you seek is found in Christ alone, who bore our sins and our sorrows on the cross. We must bring this pain to Him, laying it at His feet and allowing His love to wash over the wounds.
Let us also examine our hearts in this matter. While it is right to seek justice and healing, we must guard against bitterness, which can take root and defile us. Hebrews 12:15 warns, "Looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it." Forgiveness does not mean excusing the wrong that was done, but it does mean releasing the offender into God’s hands and choosing to walk in the freedom that Christ offers. This is not always easy, but it is necessary for our own spiritual well-being.
Now, let us come together in prayer, lifting your request to the Lord with faith and expectancy.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. We lift up this dear one who has been wounded by unrighteousness and seeks Your justice, healing, and closure. Lord, You see the pain that has been caused, and You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. We ask that You would release them from the grip of this past hurt, breaking every chain of bitterness, resentment, and unforgiveness that may be lingering in their heart. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Father, we surrender the desire for vengeance into Your hands, trusting that You will repay according to Your perfect justice. Help them to release this burden fully to You, knowing that You are a just God who will not let the wicked go unpunished. At the same time, Lord, we ask that You would heal their heart and bring closure to this chapter of their life. Let Your healing balm flow over their soul, restoring what has been broken and renewing their strength. May they walk in the freedom that Christ died to give them, no longer bound by the chains of the past.
We also pray for the ones who have caused this pain. If they do not know You, Lord, we ask that You would draw them to repentance and salvation. If they are believers, we pray that You would convict their hearts and lead them to seek forgiveness and restoration. Your Word says in Proverbs 28:13, "He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy." May Your mercy and grace abound in this situation, Lord.
Finally, we ask that You would fill this dear one with Your Holy Spirit, guiding them into all truth and leading them in the path of righteousness. May they find their identity and worth in You alone, knowing that they are fearfully and wonderfully made. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to trust in Your goodness, even when the road ahead seems uncertain.
We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Christ Jesus. We declare that this situation is under the blood of Jesus, and we speak healing, restoration, and closure over it. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in all things. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.
Beloved, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in this matter, spending time in His Word and in prayer. Psalm 147:3 says, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." The Lord is near to you, and He is working on your behalf, even when you cannot see it. Hold fast to His promises, and do not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9).
If there are specific steps the Lord is leading you to take—such as extending forgiveness, seeking godly counsel, or even confronting the situation in a biblical manner—we encourage you to obey His voice. Remember, the Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). You are not alone, and you do not have to carry this burden by yourself. Cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). May the Lord bless you and keep you, making His face to shine upon you and giving you peace.
