We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up our brothers and sisters in Christ who face spiritual warfare and persecution. The Bible makes it clear that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we serve a God who has already overcome the world (John 10:10, 16:33).
First, we must address the reality of spiritual warfare and the existence of dark forces that oppose the Kingdom of God. Witchcraft, sorcery, and all forms of occult practices are explicitly condemned in Scripture. Deuteronomy 18:10-12 warns, "There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh." These practices are not mere superstition—they are real, and they are dangerous. They open doors to demonic influence and oppression, and we must stand firm against them in the authority of Jesus Christ.
We rebuke every spirit of witchcraft, sorcery, and divination operating in that region. We declare that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, has already disarmed these principalities and powers (Colossians 2:15). We command every evil spirit to flee in the mighty name of Jesus, for He has given us authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). We stand on the promise that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
To our brothers and sisters facing this spiritual attack, we encourage you to put on the full armor of God so that you may stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11). The helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, and the sword of the Spirit—which is the Word of God—are your protection. Prayer and fasting are also powerful weapons in this battle (Matthew 17:21). Do not underestimate the power of corporate prayer, for where two or three are gathered in His name, Jesus is in the midst of them (Matthew 18:20).
We also remind you to walk in love and forgiveness, even toward those who may be used by the enemy. Jesus taught us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). This does not mean we tolerate evil, but we recognize that the individuals involved may themselves be in bondage and in need of salvation. Pray for their eyes to be opened to the truth of the Gospel and for their hearts to be transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the victory we have in Him and for the authority You have given us over all the power of the enemy. We lift up our brothers and sisters who are facing spiritual warfare and persecution from dark forces. Lord, we ask that You surround them with Your angels and protect them from every scheme of the devil. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We rebuke every spirit of witchcraft, sorcery, and divination operating in that region. We declare that the blood of Jesus has broken every curse and every chain. We command every evil spirit to flee in the name of Jesus, for He has already triumphed over them on the cross. We pray for the individuals involved in these dark practices, that their eyes would be opened to the truth of the Gospel. Soften their hearts, Lord, and draw them to Yourself. Let them see the emptiness of their ways and the fullness of life that is found only in You.
Father, we ask that You raise up intercessors in that region who will stand in the gap and pray fervently for the protection and deliverance of Your people. Equip Your church with boldness to proclaim the Gospel and to demonstrate Your power through signs, wonders, and miracles. Let the light of Christ shine brightly in the darkness, and let many come to know You as their Lord and Savior.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness to Your promises. We trust in You, knowing that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We declare that no weapon formed against Your people shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
To those reading this, if you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we urge you to do so today. The Bible tells us that "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). Turn away from sin, repent, and place your faith in Jesus Christ. He is waiting with open arms to welcome you into His family.
